That WAS the end.
Eh. It could have been better...I thought the main focus would be in Ayumi/the two Zaitsu's but then it changed to Kei/Kusada which is better anyway. Ah well.

there goes #2 in the list of manga that got shafted recently. but i thought it was handled well enough. closed some things up i guess. seriously, if it went further and dived into more of the characters, this wouldn't been an easy 10. but a 9 is pretty good though

Huh, that was it? I heard that it will end this year but I didn't expect it to happen now, that was kinda sudden. I was still hoping for a real storyline to kick in, the Boys-escape-story for example felt to me like this Manga has finally started... and now it's over. lol.

Overall it was an ok-Manga but I kinda feel like I wasted my time on it. Dunno why though. >.<

I'm guessing it just contains the serialised chapters ? Probably no new content there.

Anyway, nice end to the story (as compared to Mx0). Too bad it was ended prematurely though.

For 32 chapters it has 4 volumes, so.

I think it was a good ending,
How he finished it with Arihara's story
Whom he started Hatsukoi Limited with.

Granted that it seems like its not enough,
But I feel that is a nice compilation of high school love highlights.

The ending "conclusion" was expected though,
Nothing new (more like obvious) but its a nice way to end.

meh, not enough Enomoto, Yuu so it gets a 7/10. =P

Mizuki Kawashita managed to wrap things up without actually it seeming so rushed.

i have to say it was pretty good, but it would have been great if it didn't end so abruptly. i just wish that the characters would have been developed more. i felt that only kei-kusada was developed nicely, but the rest needed more substance. especially with all the love triangles that had formed but never really answered.

I actually enjoyed the ending. Half way through the chapter I had a feeling that it would end.

It couldve lasted a little longer, but I'm pretty satisfied with the ending.

The anime got me interested so I went and read the whole manga, lol. Good way to spoil myself, right.

It was a good ending and got the point across like ^ said. First love is memorable to each individual but of course, life is unpredictable and they never know what could happen next so I thought it was okay to end it like that. It was rather cute.

But I still wanted more, especially a nice little novel about Arihara and Yamamoto--best looking couple imo.

Exactly my case.

I think i kiinda liked how things ended with Ayumi, though there could always be moar~
but imo the best couple was Kei and Kusuda. There was something like a love/hate thing, and that what i like in couples.

I really want more than this, and i believe the author can create more than this. I wish whoever draw this will not give up on the manga and make a sequel or something. What a waste to end this manga in such a way.

The ending leaves a lot to be desired, but I guess that's what endings are supposed to do.

It was an alright manga. By the way, anyone know why MAL has it out of 34 chapters when this is the last chapter? Are the last two chapters actual "chapters?"

Decent ending for a premature ending. It didn't seem as rushed as I thought it would be. Guess I'm happy with the way things ended.

As to the poster above me, even though it's been switched back to 32 chapters, the extra 2 chapters were just specials. You can find them on mangafox. I think one was an omake and the other about some random klutz girl.

The series was excellent until close to the end, where it became clear that it had been canceled and Kawashita had to *try* to end the story as best she could. But, try as she might, it was obvious in the final chapter how much she had to rush; giving every character an appearance and forcing Ayumi to suddenly care about Misuo.

I have no idea why Kawashita's work keeps getting canceled. First this, then Ane Doki. Ane Doki is, in my eyes, better than the 19 volume long Ichigo 100%, and her art is always lovely to behold. If I were her, I'd be feeling pretty hard done by and be wondering what, exactly, I'd have to do to get another moneymaker like Ichigo again.

She nailed the humour and romance angles in Hatsuoki; to such a degree that I'd describe the series as worthy rival for High School Girls. It was a little hard to follow to begin with, when every new chapter focused on a new character, but once the introductions were over it became easy to follow - three chapter arcs starting for characters who had been introduced after that point.

I really enjoyed this series, but like some others on here, I wish it could have gone on longer. I felt the same way (especially) about Ane Doki......don't know why Kawashita's recent works keeping getting cancelled, I thought they were excellent.....well, here's to hoping she cranks out something popular among the likes of Ichigo 100%!

Exactly.
For those who complain "it's rushed" or "it's not suppose to end like that", etc,
I could say they didnt really get the very last part of narration:

"Things don't always go as well as you might like...
There are times when things might not work out at all...
But the first time you feel those precious emotion...
I'm sure there's something that you have to treasure...
and every single of those feelings leads us a bit further onward, toward the future...
ARE YOU IN LOVE?"

whether is a successful BEGINNING, like Kusuda/Kei and Dobashi/Terai or painful BEGINNING like what Zaitsu brothers and Yoshihiko going through,
those feelings (first love) will always a treasure and leads them (us) towards their (our) future

Decent ending, although I do regret it's not a bit longer series. Characters were all really likeable, comedy was pretty good, and we saw just the very begining of their first love stories. I'd love to see some more of their interactions!

Chapter 32:
I am kinda disappointed that Ayumi chose Mamoru over Misao.
She fell for him because he was the guy that carried her to the infirmary like a prince. Wow.

And during all that time she avoided giving Mamoru a response, she simply could have gone out with him to at least learn to know him better. And who knows, maybe she would have come to like him aswell?
It's not like you have to marry the very first person you like. Especially since japanese, at least depicted in manga and anime, are rather easy going with the whole going out thing during school with their valentine chocolate and stuff like that.

Chapter 32+:
And the Omake chapter is about a girl in a schooluniform with a short-skirt going commando at school.

The fanservice in this is really getting out of hand.

I felt like apart from kei/kasuda and dobashi part, most of the others didn't have much substance. maybe its due to the fact it was rushed . also the whole yuuji and misaki yammaoto part was weird to me. I get she was taken aback when a boy was upfront with her while others usually stray away due to her coolness and aloof status, but to even fall in love just because he shoved a lolipop into her mouth? it just feels so random. I think even misaki herself said in one chapter that it is stupid to fall in love just because he shoved a lolipop. I didnt like that pairing to be honest, Yuuji felt like a very minor character to me with not much screen time so to suddenly pair him up with someone like Misaki felt kind of forced. Also Bessho-kun and the older Zaitsu brother :( Man I really get too emotional and concerned over fictional character and their relationships rather than irl people haha.  All over a very good manga, even though the ending was forced a bit.
