THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
That was a decent ending to the season. If there wasn't going to be another season I would a little disappointed.

Overall, I found the season to be enjoyable. I had to finally let go of my hopes of having a realistic show though. Even without that expectation the first three episodes were a joke. 9/12 still ain't bad and some of those episodes were the best of the series.

Yes I found it was a sort of bad ending to the season but it was still great. I enjoted it a lot and can't wait for the next season to start airing.

slightly melancholic ending....

Rock seems to have become more matured than ever, fully understanding his position in the twilight....

Great stuff. Simple as that.

I'll give this one 10/10 as well though the basic subplots wasn't as good as before, but they all turned out to be pretty damn good. God, I hope season 3 will come out as soon as possible!

Only dilemma remaining, should I put season 1 or 2 up my top5 list. I think I'll go with the first season.. Babe with guns action at its finest!

I like the analogy of the living dead.
Black Lagoon is my anime dose of action packed violence, filled to the brim with gun toting gungirls, with minimal drama. Its nice to have that once in a while.

Lold many times during gthis episode and final arc.
1. Girl with Stechkin shoot multiply shots at Rock. Misses. Stechkin has a great firepower. Girl elementary can't handle this gun. She's gonna get owned after first shot with bleedeing nose.
2. Bullet slicing - pathetic shit. This show pretend to be realistic. Where is realism?
3. Seppuku with 1 meter katana. Whole blade from other side of neck... She gonna shit herself from pain. She can't do this thing.
Well, it looks like realism take a nap in this episodes. Quite pathetic in my opinion.
But whole TV2 was good.

For me, this show got over at 6 episodes of the second season. I couldn't care about the last arc. No Dutch, soft Revy, mafia with sad cute girl head, bad engrish baah.

Doesn't the ending suggest that something happened between Revy and Rock? She wouldn't answer if she slept with him or not..... 0.o

on a side note I realized at the end of the credits it showed Rock with a stone look face while him smoking for the first time. Obviously now its apparent he's become less influenced by righteousness and having the means of justifying every means he sees. I'm looking forward to seeing the next season and how Rock's outlook and personality has changed if by a little margin at all.

Nice way to end the arc imo... but if it had been the end of the series I would have been disappointed. Even though it was out of character I still thought it was funny how Revy was all bashful at the end when Eda asked if she had sex with Rock... lol.

Now for the wait for S3... seems like it is so far away... guess I'll catch up with the manga until S3 is out.... oh, and "BANG!".

I had fun watching it, but splitting bullets was nothing new in anime, and lost its "shock factor" after the first split. I'd like to see S3 with more realism, and a formula a bit more similar to the early episodes, but I can't say I didn't enjoy this season.

Actually i don`t think they meant it that way , more like they were trying to show Revy`s shame of having certain feelings for Rock , which for Revy is pretty embarrassing , even worse than sleeping with him.

Great episode. Pretty good ending.

But I have to say, I liked the first season better, it was more about the lagoon company. This one was more about Hotel Moscow and the Russians. It didn't have enough Dutch in it, which was really dissapointing.

But overall, good season. I hear they are going to make a 3rd? That's good.

I kinda have to agree about the Russians. (Filled the whole second season with the exception of 1? or two arcs.) Though I found both season to be quite the same as far as enjoyment goes. This might be the only series though that will go on my fav list without getting a 10 from me.

Revy definitely didn't, lol. I dunno about Balalaika's intentions though, but Rock and the viewers both know what happened to her anyways.

I think her intentions was to give Rock credit for killing her. Since it was his bullet (words) that tipped the fight just enough for Revy to win which caused Yukio to kill herself. Of course she wasn't there so probably shouldn't know what went down. But let's face it the Russians are all powerful and know all.

Anyways I didn't mind so much Rock and Revy time though wasn't such a big fan of all the focus on the Russians. Hopefully we get them enough so we can focus a bit more back on the Lagoon company again.

While I would have liked to see Dutch and Benny a bit more, the arcs were deeper and more worthy or more episodes than the first series.

And it might just be me, but I prefer Revy like she was in this arc. Makes her character slightly more believable and helps to see better chemistry between her and Rock

i greatly enjoyed this season, though i think its better to say it was one big season rather than two little ones. and what is everyone complaining about lack of realism for? swords are proven to be able to slice bullets, though i agree that a person being able to correctly time such a feat is questionable. its not SO FAR GONE from reality as people make it seem like. can't wait for more of this show.

I see people expecting realism out of this anime. Don't! It's purpose is action, NOT realism.

Anyway, what a great arc this was. Probably the best IMO.

But TG there will be a season after this! Looking forward to it!!

Loved the second season over the first season and the last episodes were really the best! But I aggree that the other members of Black Lagoon could have had a bigger role...
Anyway at this rate the third second will be even better, right?!

The season's not bad.

I like the first 2 arc. The first for disturbing, the second for entertaining. The third arc is slightly deeper, which is not exactly a bad thing.

Though this season is not as fun to watch like season 1, season one was fun like playing metal slug, season 2 is more.... something else. I like all 3 arc in this season over the terminator maid.

7/10 like the first season.

I agree. Throughout the whole season it's apparent that Revy has feelings for Rock. Eda picks these hints up and plays around with Revy's feelings every so often knowing it will piss her off :D. The ending, as LagTag pointed out, sounded like nothing happened between Revy and Rock but Revy was still embarrassed to acknowledge she has feelings for him.

In any case this season was as good, if not better, than the last season. Cant wait till the next season comes out!

You guys raised my curiosity. Turns out an OVA was announced for this July from my google searches.

Oh I liked the ending and story to the 2nd season but there were definitely things I preferred in the first season.

Even though there was more depth to this season & probably should be rated higher I'm going to give this season 7/10 like I did the first.

Good stuff, I'd definitely watch the 3rd season.

Same, Black Lagoon is easily one if not my most favorite anime series. The last episode was a pretty good way to end the season but like so many other people have said I would have been greatly disappointed if there wasn't going to be another one (which there is). Really can't wait to see how bad ass Rock has become and of course I want more Revy lol. I really hope they have all or most of the same Voice Actors from the first 2 seasons. Especially Revy

Hm, 720p Blu-ray quality... pretty good... but now it's time to re-watch in English dubbing...

Rock is still in the middle, i guess he'll just try to watch how the world will destroy itself in time.

Reby got Influenced by Japan, and Rock ofcourse. it was good to see some change in her.

Interesting ending to a series such as this. Rock will remember Yukio's death for the rest of his life.

Nice ending, I agree that I would be pissed as well if this was the end.
But, I guess there is no season three, just the OVA that''s airing?

The ending was a little anticlimactic.
I was hoping for a huge battle, and to see Genji fight his was through Hotel Moscow!

Revi and his fight was nice, but I would've like to see a battle!

I personally really enjoyed this arc, especially b/c we got to see Roc finally cross over to there side.

It was inevitable, he was gonna have to let go of his morals etc if the was gonna continue on this path.

And, the more Ballelika the better imo!!

I gave this season a 10/10, yes it had it's shortcomings, but episode 11.....
the Roc/Revi/Ballelika stand off was pure fucking win!!!

It gets a 10/10 just for that scene, and the rest was amazing!
Overall I think I like S1 better, but certain episodes this season were way better than the whole season 1.

people who are bitching about realism, are you joking???????? cars blow up with bullets, robot maid, little girl holding on a machine gun, and Revvy surviving every battle barely any scratches especially when the maid blasted her with a rpg. At no point was this show following realism. The closet thing to being realistic is the samurai cutting the bullet and yes it's possible.

I didn't enjoy this season that much it felt like it was going a serious plot direction then it went an indecisive approach of mindless killing. It kept flip flopping, which annoyed me. Either go all out guns and blazing or build an actual story. In addition, I would have love it if there were more character development for Revvy instead history of side characters or introducing new ones. 10/10 for action bullet cutting samurai 1/10 on story.

Personally, I felt like this series was a grindhouse film, stretched several hours too long. Not only was there no character development, there was no plot as well. Which is you're going to do episodic, at least do it right. There should at least be some underlying plot that ties everything together in the end--which this series didn't do.

NGL, though, I do like the swapped gender roles in this series. Rock plays the stereotypical female anime role, which is refreshing, albeit annoying at times. I find it hilarious how he always comes to realization of the errors of his self-righteous personality at the end of arcs, yet he never changes his personality or behavior.

Anyways, this was a fun, mindless ride. I'll rate it an 8/10 for its camp factor. If it doesn't improve upon this, though, not going to continue.
