You are actually wrong, that is what i thought as well, but in the next chapters they refer to the one shot as stuff that really happened. There is too much evidence showing that chapter 1 follows the events of chapter 0. e.g.: http://www.onemanga.com/Princess_Lucia/1/26/ the picture of Lucia he was drawing at chapter 0 http://www.onemanga.com/Princess_Lucia/1/28/ he knew where the Ramen shop was since he was told at chapter 0 http://www.onemanga.com/Princess_Lucia/2/27/ you have actual flashbacks of chapter 0 and they are talking when she said he likes him at chapter 0. I can go more but that should be enough. EDIT: even on MAL the oneshot is correctly labeled as the prequel and not an alternate setting, and apparently its not a one shot but a manga. Maybe the author started from chapter zero instead of chapter one... |

That's all fine and dandy, except I was the one who added Princess Lucia one-shot to the database, and I decided to put it in as a prequel since it fits in with the rest of the story. The author probably though it was unnecessary to retell the events of the one-shot since most of the readers would be familiar with it already, and it was easier to just start it with a fresh chapter and refer to the events in chapter 0 as flashbacks. What's more, while researching info on the one-shot, I found out that it was published in Comic Blade September 2008 while the serialized version started in March 2009. The gap (as well as it being continuously referred to as a one-shot) proves beyond reasonable doubt that it was a one-shot that was picked up for serialization and the one-shot was worked in to the story. You might not know this, but manga are usually made as a one-shot first, and if they score high on the questionaries they may get opted for serialization. Also, in chapter 0/the one-shot, Yuta is 13 while in the serialized version he is 14. |
| Yea, i noticed the time delay and i generally know how one shots and manga's work, (mostly thanks to Bakuman). I also found it weird that the age was different, but ignored it thinking it could be an accidental translation error since all the other events fit in nicely. Notice i mentioned that it should be referred as chapter zero, which is unlike most oneshots even if they are great they still start anew with the manga. |

| oh god this IS kimi no iru machi. the character personalities and looks are so similar. they changed the plot somewhat but wow. I wasn't shocked it was the same mangaka. somehow I'm still interested based on how stupid KNIM has gotten. |

| There is like 2 weeks delay in my recent reading list I randomly bought discount/second hand manga with cute/mysterious cover.  Use Personal Blacklist extension in Chrome if you just want to Google for a series synopsis, without google slapping MAL score in it. 3/1 |
