| I've just watched Karas the prophecy on AniMidnight and i must say this 'movie' kicked so much ass!! Seeing that theres "6" episodes in the database im guessing this shows "the prophecy" shows the first 3 episodes and "the Revelation" shows the last 3. I'm about to snatch up the dvd b4 i go to work. And hopefully part 2 will come out soon! ...but the release date on ANN said April 2007. And when going to Manga.com (the english distribution company) and uhmm, their coming soon list hasnt been updated in over a year *_* WTF Kinda weird considering it was ranked #5 on the most anime sold in 2006 (according to Nielson) |

The last 3 episodes do almost all of the explaining of the story. This anime is liked by many viewers because of many aspects. 1. The animation is absolutely terrific 2. The music is beautiful and very movie-like 3. It revitalizes the old superhero genre 4. It is real world and fantasy mixed in a rather subtle way 5. The protagonist is a likely superhero. Also, most of the characters can not be put into modern anime stereotypes that easily 6. It is rather serious anime despite the superpowers, which is welcomed by people who are tired of shounen series that try to be funny but fail horribly 7. The anime lacks many of the clichés we have almost come to expect from anime, such as the "NOOOOOO" or "I will tell you my intentions, because you're going to die anyway" or a lengthy 5-minute staring contest etc. |
