The truth is out and this episode gave more character insight into Lexie, technology, and more background lore. Technology appears to be powerful enough to treat an epidemic back according to Lexie. Impessive imo.

I wonder what all the risks are for Harold to be part of these implantations and experiments. Still feels like an important episode to set the tone of the series as well as the potential for what technology can do imo.

Unless I’m missing something, which is totally possible given they skipped the first book, Aiden was completely in the right wasn’t he? Like Lexie violated scientific ethics and the law by creating RF models who basically have the same neural network as humans. She was out of line and opened up a can of worms.

While Harold and Marvin might be decent now, there’s not been enough study or oversight of this sort of thing who knows what could happen in the future. Aiden was completely right to want this brought to light, but Echika betrayed her oath and commitment to humanity by protecting Harold’s source code there. I can definitely see this hitting harder if this were better adapted, I.e if the first book didn’t get skipped because we haven’t been with Echika long enough to really see how committed she is to the cause.

Actually feel horrible for Aiden because he and lexie were clearly in love in their own science nerd sort of way, she even modeled the RF models after him and then he gets killed for doing the RIGHT thing in front of a fucking cop and the cop basically gives Lexie a slap on the wrist lmao.

That insane neglect of duty aside, the ending was so cute 😭 “You are the first person I ever wanted to understand. You’ll probably hurt me again in the future. But I still want us to grow closer” AHHHHH this is a confession idc 😂 they’re both so socially awkward this is as close as we’re gonna get. Looking forward to the next arc, hopefully it’s not as confusing

I'm glad they're moving on to the next case, because this case has overstay its welcome.

Miss Inspector's behavior in the first half is how to put it mildly, she is a retard, in the end all the work had to do Lexie, and she is so most pity in this story arc, the villain is a disgrace.

I think Hieda's decision to hide Harold's secret will come back to bit her in the a**.... I still feel Lexie is the villian and Aiden just became the scapegoat. Hopefully he is alive and will get his justice. Hieda please grow more backbone. It's good she has a soft corner for Harold but she needs to act more logically....

The case of the RF model is finally closed—Lexie was totally sus from the start. With this episode, Echika and Harold are definitely getting closer, and I’m pretty sure Harold caught on to her little lie about getting a call.

Still, we got some cool insight into how Harold, as an RF model, works. His growth mirroring that of a human thanks to a neural system is actually really impressive.

This was pretty well adapted overall, but skipping the first volume completely destroys the impact of Echika choosing to betray her own values just to save Harold. What a shame. But the big thing here are the reveals, the Amicus robots aren't just more advanced, they're created with a system that emulates the human brain, so they're the only ones who can actually think, or maybe they just pretend they do so. Tthe laws of respect are an illusion that is enough for normal Amicus as they just aren't smart enough to realize, but the RF Models can and that's why the starting incident happened. I really like this idea personally, especially how even though the smart ones can probably think, they still do it in a completely different way than humans.

This might be the most uninteresting anime I've watched in a while. Im not crazy into detective animes but when done right their really good. But just this whole case was so bland.

The only thing I like about this anime is the music

Using Sefirot in the source code. That's incredibly fitting. Very clever, whoever put that in.

I'm pretty sure Hieda's decision will cause something bad for her or for Harold in the long run...

The end of this arc has come and so has decision time. I am going to drop this. I do not like how this was adapted and this ties into my dislike of the protagonist who just seems to drift along with the plot rather than drive it.

I felt myself pretty sucked into this one, which I’m happy to say since this adaptation has been scuffed from the start, but at the same time I can tell that I’m not feeling the emotions I should be feeling during the big moments of this episode, even if it was really good.

Firstly, interesting twist on Aiden and Lexie, imo Lexie is definitely the villain here, what she’s done could cause huge problems for humanity in creating robots that can truly think like we can. It’s just unfortunate that despite me agreeing with Aiden, his way of outing Lexie has made him into a criminal, so I can’t say he went about it in the right way even if he’s the right one here. And ultimately it was on Echika to choose who wins in this situation, but if Aiden winning meant Harold dies… it was obvious who she was choosing here lol, I can’t blame her really, as a viewer who missed the first book I’m not that concerned with Harold biting it to expose the dangers of RF Models, but to Echika it meant way more.

I really liked the last moment with Harold and Echika to end the arc, I may not be feeling what I should be here since we didn’t get to see the start of Echika and Harold’s relationship, but I can feel echoes of those feelings because I can tell how big this is supposed to be for the two of them, I’m excited to see where the story takes them from here. And hell, maybe I will just read the first book or something to improve the anime for myself lol, it would be the first ever LN I’ve read but it might be worth it.

I feel like both sides had a point. Farman was right to want to expose the RF model code, but doing so could’ve led to their deactivation. Even if Lexie lied, manipulated, and broke laws to achieve her goal, shutting down the models out of fear or distrust of how their neural network might evolve felt like a drastic move.

On another note, Echika really leaves much to be desired as an enforcer of the law. She tried to arrest Farman even though she was unarmed and he had a weapon. Plus, she also lied in her report and to Harold—just because she didn’t want to be alone.

I hope the next story arc stops being so confusing. It's not that the story itself is hard to follow, it's more that the anime keeps throwing out world-building concepts as if it's already assumed we understand everything. I guess that happens by not starting the story from the beginning.

@Narizor It's gonna get worse next episode. The next story arc uses the first light novel's crime as the very foundation of its plot. If you don't understand what happened in the first LN (which is every anime-only viewer) Episodes 5-8 are going to make the viewers feel like they're groping around in the darkness inside a house built of sand.
