A new Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon (My Happy Marriage) anime was announced following the broadcast of the second season's 13th and final episode on Wednesday. The official website also revealed a commemorative visual (pictured) and announcement promo for the new anime.

Produced by Kinema Citrus, the second season adapting Akumi Agitogi's historical fantasy novel premiered on January 6. Netflix streamed the anime worldwide with subtitles.

The first season aired in 12 episodes in Summer 2023, with Netflix simulcasting the anime worldwide. An original anime episode was bundled with the eighth light novel volume in March 2024.

Agitogi began penning the fantasy romance novel, also known as Watakon, on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in 2018. Kadokawa began printing the series with illustrations by Tsukiho Tsukioka under its Fujimi L Bunko in January 2019 and released the ninth volume on March 14. Watakon has a cumulative 9 million copies of its volume in circulation.

Rito Kousaka began drawing a manga adaptation on the Gangan Online web magazine in December 2018. Square Enix published the fifth volume in July 2024.

Yen Press and Square Enix licensed the light novel and manga adaptation in English in June and July in 2021, respectively. The eighth light novel volume went on sale on January 21. The fifth manga volume was released on April 5.

Out of all amazing anime that felt conclusive and did not needed a sequel, this one didn't needed it the most.

There's no need to get emotional.

It's adapted from an ongoing source.

That's cool, but not relevant to what I meant.

How many more seasons can they release before they hit the ongoing original novel?

Not really that much. The second season covered novels 4 to 6. I'm not sure if this new anime project will be a 3rd season or a movie for novel 7. Novel 8 are just side stories and I believe novel 9 was just released in Japan recently.

But I'm happy for more my Happy marriage regardless if this will be a new season, an OVA or a movie.

@OrangeRafi So, they will get to the current events in a couple of seasons, essentially?
