The anime has only adapted the manga so far. There is no reason they would use another source material for the third season as it will just be the continuation of the third arc ( GGC + Ktahrnid(or however you write it) ).

However, I DO hope that they take their sweet time with the animation instead of rushing it. SLF is an anime in my top 10, so I want a nicely cooked meal instead of a hurriedly prepared monstrosity.

@animefanftw123 no no. I'm not saying S2 is rushed. I lived it WAYYYG more than S1 anyways. I'm just hoping that they take their sweet time on it and make it as good, if not better than S2

Considering they didnt give a specified date, its clear they do want to take their time.

@animefanftw123 they did the same with S2. When they announced it, they didn’t immediately give a date. But one month later, they announced it for Fall 2024.


Now the thing is, making 25 episodes so fast isn’t easy at all. They made and released another 25 episode season after the first in a matter of 5 months. Which is crazy. Well, in this case their planning and resource management was done immaculately. However, if they announce S3 for like, let’s say, Fall 2025 or Winter 2026, it’s gonna be evident that they’re gonna rush the animators and overwork them, which means the final product has a huge chance of being underwhelming, more so than the First two seasons.


And that’s why I’m praying that this doesn’t happen. And that production is done smwht smoothly and the final result is better than S2

@Teruki_Inoue Yet considering they only work on 1 series at a time and its clear C2C is given enough time to work on each episode even if seasons are b2b, they arent being "rushed".
