I've heard only good things about the novels, seeing the PV's and trailers, key visuals, it all looks really good. The staff involved though, is questionable. The director has a decent track record, but its the studio I'm worried the most about.

The latest PV looks like the studio's best work, something they're actually putting effort in and trying their best for, usually with this studio all their work looks the same. Take 'The Witch and The Beast' & 'The Kingdoms of Ruins' the art style is almost identical, obviously since they both had the same teams and even this anime does. You can expect them to all look similar, but the problem with this studio is that they always have the best background art and detailed character designs. But the animation falls flat, or it'll be a subpar adaption with still frames that match the manga 1:1, no creative liberties are taken.

The Witch and The Beast had great background art and character designs, but the animation was just okay. So I'm wondering if you guys think this project will be any different?

The artstyle of this one does look similar to their previous works as well, but this is 100x more detailed and polished. Studio Yokohama Lab has ran into many issues before because of their side studio partnership with Cloud Hearts.

lol means nothing, they could animate the extra few frames looking back, not reuse the same frame they originally started with. pure laziness or accidental, especially after not even a full second of it looking at something

True. Last time I actually took a step outside was back in 2022 when I went to jump festa for anime information&announcements.

I for real havent been outside since, however the streak will break this year when I visit the motherland of anime again, Jump Festa 2025.

All this so that in the end you can say that the error is in a bird? Honestly, I don't have many expectations about it, in fact I'm already expecting a failure, but since there was a break of almost a year maybe something decent will come out of it. The PVS were not something divine, but not bad either. Let's wait.

The novels are really good! If the animation isn't frame lock 2.0 and they don't skip/alter things, I will be happy with the adaptation. I doubt they gonna 1:1 the manga panels though, since the manga has a totally different, rather simplistic artstyle compared to the anime, so it's not like they can just copypaste the panels. Nevertheless, I hope they do the source material justice.

@HYPIXS yes, but the main studio that was at fault was Cloud hearts since it was their partnering studio.

Personally, the thing that worries me the most is that this is probably not gonna be subtitled by Crunchyroll 😕
