What swap? Even Maomao admitted it was just her own speculation without any concrete basis.

Jinshi is Ah-Duo and current emperor's son. She and Anshi decided to swap the kids because Ah-Duo wanted a better life for her son, and Anshi didn't want to take care of another kid of the man she hated (former emperor).

Therefore, Anshi took care of Jinshi and Ah-Duo of Anshi's son until he died from accidental honey poisoning at the hand of Ah-Duo's head maid.

So basically:
Biologically, Jinshi is Ah-Duo and current emperor's son
On paper, Jinshi is Anshi and the former emperor's son and current emperor's little brother.

Maomao's theory makes sense because of Jinshi's resemblance to Ah-Duo, and his resemblance to the former emperor could come from the fact that he's Jinshi's grandfather.

Although, I am a little surprised that people couldn’t figure this out from watching the anime.

Do you think it was not so obvious as I am thinking ?

Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

I must admit I was lost too, just from the anime. I thought I paid attention but it was too complicated, at some times I had to pause it think about it and rewind it, still didn't understand😅 I only properly learned everything from the wiki page. But in this last episode they revealed a lot of things. So finally I understand 😅 But if you miss out one information you are lost.

From my understanding and based on the information we have.

Jinshi is officially the old emperor and empress dowagers son (on paper anyway)
Which means he is the current emperors brother.

However the theory is that he is actually the current emperors son with ah duo that was swapped with the old emperors and anshi real son.

This suggests that he is actually the current prince and heir to the throne.

U can see the genes of both the old emperors (grand father) and Ah duo (real mother) in jinshi

Mere speculation is crazy. It was delivered so strongly regardless of speculation or not I think it’s more difficult to deny.

Also to add some points that support this
1. Jinshi was drinking medicine that could make him impotent. This leads credence to him not being a eunuch
2. With what’s said above and the speculation on his lineage it makes sense why he gets to do as he pleases
3. His participation in the ceremony that Mao-Mao saved him. This was a ceremony for a person of high-standing which fits if he’s the current heir to the throne.
4. Mao-Mao and Jinshi navigating the trial to test an emperor is blatant alluding and foreshadowing to me.

I’m sure there are even more but these are what I could think of off hand.

@GulielmusPrime We know for sure Jinshi isn't a eunuch and that he's either the son of Ah Duo or Anshi. It's heavily hinted, yes, but there's no confirmation in the anime yet whether the baby swap really happened or whether Anshi was in on it.
