I fully support AI experimentations. The tech will definitely work at some point in the close future and will make many kinds of artworks much more affordable.

| @Dante012 As an animator & artist, I cannot support AI experimentations until it's ethical, which as it is looking right now, it doesn't seem to be on the right track atm, one can hope tho Yeah, for sure, it's so awful looking LMAO! @Dante012 I wouldn't say Awful, but I don't think the intended purpose of this project is to show Anime can be made exclusively by AI, Across The Spiderverse was made using AI and nobody noticed/said anything. This is just taking the tech to an extreme, to show animation studios what's possible. I remember seeing AI animations years ago and it looked trash, looking at it now there has been insane improvements. To think what would be possible in just a few more years. This would enable mangakas and authors to focus more on stories. Imagine just launching up Youtube and seeing a new episode of your favourite anime.

| @Dante012 Speaking as someone who is painfully on the fence regarding how to view this whole AI art debacle - you are never going to convince anyone that's how it works. A computer program doesn't have the ability to innovate on it's own. Ethics of the issue aside, training an AI and training an artist are not and should not be considered the same thing. As far as the animation of this show goes - my first thought before I knew it was AI was that it looked like rotoscoping. It kind of gives off that same feeling of being weirdly fluid and janky all at the same time. That alone will probably put me off of watching it, though - I've never been able to sit through a show with rotoscope animation - too much uncanny valley for my tastes. |
