I've just finished the S1. I liked the vibe the show had, but for some reason it felt kinda off from the 2nd half of S1. I love more deep dive into the past of the 3 main character Mikado, Masaomi and Anri which happened in this part, but it felt off when the show started to focus more and more on gang stuff. This side really killed my interest. Wil this get good, what should I do?

Keep watching, Durarara has a lot of plots, and you'll like it if you enjoy the mystery genre..

Yeah, I feel you. Durarara starts off as an amazing show, but after a while, it just keeps adding more and more characters without really knowing what to do with them. It never really reaches that same peak again, and the animation drops in quality too. Still, there are a couple of cool new characters, and while it turns into a kinda mid show, it’s not unwatchable or anything.

I'd say keep going, but don’t expect it to ever hit the same highs as the first part. If you go in with chill expectations, you might still enjoy parts of it.

i agree that season 1 was great and s2 just felt weird.
but personally having finished all of it. I think it's worth it. kinda bittersweet how I feel overall but if I ignore the fact that it's split the way it is (meaning seasons) it was an enjoyable watch and I recommend it to anyone.

Thank you, I think I'll binge the rest as quickly as possible in 2 day duration.

I really loved durarara first half of S1, after this it was downhill for me, S3 was the worst, had a lot of bad characters with nonsensical reasons, especially the female characters.

I'm a big big fan of this series. But I will say if you aren't enjoying the gang stuff, be aware that there is a lot more of it coming. the series gets rather dark, part of why I love it so much.
It's chaotic and fascinating though. there's so much between those three kids, I honestly think it's worth the watch.
yes like others say there's lots of characters thrown in and a lot of them seem pointless. I think it's due to not everything being added from the novels, but that's ok. It's still enjoyable. everything comes together, generally everything has a reason.
Narita has always done series with an eclectic cast, and I think it would be a shame to miss out on this one.
That being said, I can completely respect being turned off from the gang stuff. and if that's really not your cup of tea, move on. I think you'll know by the first chunk of season 2 if you want to continue. S2 Shou. If your feelings haven't changed after you finish it, drop the series. it won't be for you, and that's ok!
