Winners of the 70th Shogakukan Manga Awards Announced

Shogakukan announced the winners of its annual manga awards on Friday.

Kore Kaite Shine
Minoru Toyoda's comedy manga has been serialized in Gessan (Monthly Shounen Sunday) since November 2021. The series' sixth volume was published by Shogakukan in August 2024. Kore Kaite Shine ranked first in the 16th Manga Taisho Awards.

Shakunetsu Kabaddi (Burning Kabaddi)
The sports manga written and illustrated by Hajime Musashino was published in the Ura Sunday web magazine between July 2015 and July 2024. A total of 297 chapters compiled into 31 volumes were released during its lifetime, with the final volume released by Shogakukan in December 2024. TMS Entertainment adapted the series into a 12-episode anime that aired in Spring 2021. Shakunetsu Kabaddi ranked 19th under the Male Readers' category in the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2017 rankings.

Natsume Arata no Kekkon (Arata Natsume Getting Married)
Tarou Nogizaka's psychological manga made its debut in the bimonthly Big Comic Superior in June 2019, where it was serialized until January 2024. Shogakukan released the series' twelfth and final volume in March 2024. The manga was adapted into a live-action film that premiered in Japan on September 6, 2024.

Puniru wa Kawaii Slime (Puniru is a Kawaii Slime)
Penned by Maeda-kun, the romantic comedy manga began its serialization in the weekly CoroCoro Comic magazine in March 2022. Shogakukan has released six compiled volumes, with the seventh to be released in February 2025. A 12-episode anime adaptation by TOHO animation STUDIO aired in Fall 2024. The studio also announced that a second season is currently in production.

Nominees for the awards were announced by Shogakukan in December of last year. Including the winners, the nominees were Uruwashi no Yoi no Tsuki, Kagurabachi, Kujou no Taizai, Kusuriya no Hitorigoto, Black Alice, Manshuu Ahen Squad, Yume no Shizuku, Kin no Torikago, and Red Blue.

Is they are saying this is the best publishing manga in 2024(not literally off course but question is, do they deserved to be award winning manga)
And I'd there on category or not because they use to have : boy, girl, child & general this 4 category
So do they followed that without mentioning any context,

Congrats to the winners. Damn, I might give Puniru manga or anime a try. It seems to be fairly popular, but most of all good from the technical point of view (the source material at least; I don't know much about the anime).
