Interesting to see the Villa acting like guerrillas as they never did in the TV series, but why did they spend 3/4 of the episode on the villains' battle with them?

The fake Mellowlink trick would have been more effective if she hadn't been panting in a feminine voice most of the time.

I do like that unnamed guerrilla's unexplained homicidal rage toward Mellowlink. It prevents the guerrillas from having a too-positive portrayal and is an interesting mystery. I don't understand why her death was so melodramatic, though. Are we supposed to care because she was somewhat attractive?

I'm not too thrilled that Mellowlink will apparently only ever kill his targets with that air piston thing. It telegraphs too much; his enemy won't die until his pulls it out.

The subs I'm watching call the target-of-the-week "Stablos", but it should probably be "Stavro" since the character seems heavily inspired by the portrayal of Ernst Stavro Blofeld from the James Bond films; a bald man with a nasty scar running down the cheek from one eye hiding from his past under an assumed, wealthy identity with a vicious callousness with regard to human life.

By the same token, Gomez looks a lot like Wolverine from X-Men.

Well, that's three men down.

I like how Carradine warns them, but they don't listen, lol.

Fronzel is absolutely correct regarding that gun. This OVA has a very unique concept so I'm probably going to watch more of it.

He could shoot bad guys just then and there as they were toasting but I guess Mellowlink wants to make a point or send a message by fighting them in VOTOMS with AT rifle or maybe it's just 80s/90s thing to make hero honorable? I don't know anything about VOTOMS i dont know why I am watching this, but it's interesting excercise to watch 2020s anime and this next to each other.

edit: btw my subtitles call target Major Shook. Or something tbh i can't be bother to remember even if I just finished the episode.
