Ever since episode 3, Clark told Letty basically only depend on him in what seem more of threatening manner. Is he trying to get revenge on her since she fell on him from a tree? He said he loves her free spirit nature but has done everything to try to take it away from her.

He forced her into princess lessons only to find out at a party by bringing Briana along that it didn't break Letty's spirit after all that time.

He let her escape castle grounds to bring her back, saying he could go get her at any time and no one would help you.

Clark told people that if they wanted a future king, he would only have heirs with Letty. That just ends up chaining her to one spot in the public eyes.

Finally, in episode 3, he told Letty to talk to him. What happened to him loving her free spirit?

quest'anime... è la cosa più inquietante che abbia mai visto, vuole spacciarsi per una storia d'amore ma io vedo solo una poveretta che viene costretta al matrimonio con la forza.

this anime... is the most disturbing thing i've ever seen, it tries to pass itself off as a love story but all i see is a poor girl being forced into marriage.

I had put it on hold, but I’ll try to watch the further episodes to be up to date
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

@Maka-Albarn02 @ejleon To me, it's more of an introduction to Stockholm syndrome than being a romance.

I don't think it's revenge, I think it's just shitty writing trying to make something fucked up into comedy, and Clarke is just an end result of that bad writing, making him an unlikable POS. They wanna do comedic things, but they miss every mark and make fun of something that inherently isn't funny (forced marriage and basically imprisonment). Trying to pass Clarke's unacceptable behavior as easygoing and love-struck, like getting told by Leticia that she was uncomfortable with being touched, and he just says "I wanna touch you because I like you so much". That's not comedy, that's just creepy and uncomfortable. And it's not even just the prince, the fact that every other character beside Leticia is okay with his behavior just tells you the author doesn't thing whatever Clarke doing is wrong. It's just a badly written attempt at a romcom that would've done better as something more serious like a thriller instead of forcing the love story out of it.

I’m currently reading this series and watching it as well and it does get better. I was a little off as well when I watch/read the series but it’s gets better with there relationship and with each of the characters. Now her brother is an 🍑 and he is the villain in my option not the prince but I wouldn’t spoil it on here.
