2024 adaptation compared to the 2009 adaptation

I have a question about the 2024 adaptation and the 2009 adaptation.
I have only watched the 2024 adaptation and I was wondering if the 2009 adaptation goes further in the story than the 2024 adaptation or not.

And can you tell me what differs between those two ?

It’s been a while since I watched the original but I believe everything in the original was covered in the remake. The remake even covers a bit more of the story as well.

Apart from that the remake much more faithfully adapted the light novels and there was also the big change in art styles.

2009 adaptation season 2 skipped volume 4 and adapted volume 3 and 5. 2024 adapted volume 1 to 4. So when season 2 of the 2024 drop it will go further assuming it's another double cour season who will again adapt 4 volumes.

if something is remade it basically means that it is trying to make it better than the previous animators did, and more faithfull and in this case they put in more content, and much better animation.

Last arc in 2024 adaptation wasn't adapted, but actually switched order with other arc or something like that.

2008-2009 series adapted volumes 1 and 2 (season 1) and volumes 3 and 5 (season 2).
2024 series adapted volumes 1 and 2 (first cours) and volumes 3 and 4 (second cours).
Technically, both series also adapted a short story from a further volume (it was the 13th episode for the 2024 series).
So, 2008-2009 series goes 'further' but skipped an entire volume.

Also worth mentioning that the 2024 series is generally considered more faithful to the original source (and I agree with that), and the ending of the second season of 2009 (adaptation of volume 5) is an anime original one.
Furthermore, volume 5 is part of a big arc that includes volumes 5, 6, 8 and 9 which would be the next four volumes adapted supposing the 2024 series follow the same pattern of 2 cours adapting 4 volumes for its second season.
So, imo worth waiting for it if you want to see what will probably be a better adaptation of volume 5 :)

The differences between 2009 and 2024 is very minimal. I think so far the 2024 version covered either half to 2/3 of what the 2009 version covered.

First of all, it's the 2008 adaptation. Not 2009. The original version started airing in 2008. The second season of it aired in 2009.

The 2008 version is still currently slightly further in the story, but the 2024 remake is getting a second season. You know that, right? Just wait for that. The 2024 version will most likely go even more further in the story and adapt more of the source material, since the 2008 version never got a third season.

The big thing that differs between the 2 is that the 2024 adaptation is more faithful to the light novels. Plus, the original 2008 version skipped an entire volume, while the 2024 version didn't skip it and actually adapted it.
