Might of underestimated Urmander in this show. She might be childish at times but she beat that overgrown boar monster like a boss.

I think it's pretty much accepted that Urmander is going to be a valuable asset in the group, especially with her talent in magic. Uchimura had good intentions this episode but very poor timing lmao

Facepalmed by this episode. Citizen are dying from hunger and they're worry about cloth, this kingdom needs more than salaryman, it needs disruptor or entrepreneur that will tear down those traditions.

Wow, he accidentally proposed marriage to her! ROFLMAO. She does have a crush on him, but I guess she does have limits, public displays are off limits! LOL
Ogre girl is a great aide, he made a great choice, there. Seems like the other Female General is quietly measuring him in the shadows. From the OP animation I guess she will come around to his side soon.

Uchimura and Ulmandra go 'hunting' and 'cooking', it is pretty fun to see, but soon a rift appear as their different cultures lead to some misunderstandings between them.

From that point onwards the episode is very funny and super cute, to the point it made me think that there really is something going on romance-wise between our two lead characters: Ulmandra was trying to show her 'appeal' to him this whole time -just in the wrong way-, he blurts out that that her body is very sexy while blushing furiously, their desperate attempts and desire to fix things with each other also make it very clear how close they've gotten over time.
Now then, accidentaly proposing to her might reset their relationship a little bit I'm afraid haha.

Kudos to Ulmandra's VA for a great performance!
Anyway, it was probably my favorite episode so far :)

Urmander clearly has feeling for Uchimura, so maybe they will be together somehow (probably not officially) but he doesn't know any magic nor he can defend himself, which make him an easy target.

Honestly, I don't think this show is for me. I gave it my standard 3 episodes but I'm still bored and just think it's some bored salaryman's self-insert fantasy vs a show with wide appeal....maybe other office workers will like it but I just don't think I'll enjoy this one. For those who do like it have fun!

This was the first episode where I was ok with the Ulmandra maiden in love gimmick because they actually used it as a learning opportunity for she and uchimura. Cultural misunderstandings are a very real thing for couples from different backgrounds. Quite enjoyed seeing the two of them freak out over the skimpy clothing thing and tbh I’ve been in uchimura’s position accidentally saying patronising stuff to a gf and not realising it until later

The demon lord making sure it didn’t spill over and become anything bigger is great leadership and tbh this was just as big a negotiation as any. As a man, you def need to learn how to apologise and learn from your mistakes with the Mrs. Demon Lord is a wise man lol. But man, Uchimura going for the world record for cultural faux pas in a day, now he’s accidentally proposed to Ulmandra lmao.

I'm really enjoying this show more and more. Uchimura is accidentally making both demon girls around him fall for him. He's also making progress—he even admitted to Urmander that he finds her body sexy and appealing. I hope they keep it up, and we get to see a relationship develop with both Urmander and Orle. Also, who is the shitty glasses bitch that showed up near the end? I can't wait to learn more about her.

Ulmandra is so fckin adorable wtf. This anime is not really that interesting but she's the only reason why I am watching this. And hearing Kohara Konomi with a strong voice and not with her usual loli or cheerful voice is also great.

Damn it, they should just get married and reproduce already.

@evilchris

She's a prideful tsundere demon, obviously she's extreme in some of her reactions and behaviour, but almost like all tsundere girls she's also sweet and cute and she has a romantic side.

My favorite episode so far this season. I am loving the dynamic between Uchimura and Urmander it’s so sweet! Urmander is so cute, and I’m also curious about the other female with glasses who said that she was the assistant for the other big 4 guy though I think it’s really her.

@phantomfandom whole show has no idea what it wants to be. It's listed as a comedy adventure but I am yet to see something that's funny or adventurous. On one side they are painting grim picture as you mention, on the other it's like "tee hee we just needed someone to tell us to use salt".

@MeanEYE The problem here is that the mc-kun is presented as the light of reason. The local peasants, for some reason, don't know how to cook meat at all. It's as if they've never seen it before. Neither does the dragon-chan. Neither they nor she had ever encountered meat before. Not at all. Not in their entire lives. Every farmer in the world knows how to cook meat. Even if they're very agrarian. And if we're talking about the Middle Ages, game. Bloodletting, skinning, etc. It's been done since the Paleolithic.
To make the mc-kun look smart, they made the others look stupid.

This is what makes it so annoying if you ask me. There are ways to write things and avoid everyone looking stupid. Oh well, we anime lovers are use to minimum effort maximum gain writing like this.

OMG! I can't believe how hard Ulmandra is falling for Uchimura. He, of course, is completely clueless about her advances. I hope someone finally brings it to his attention so he can reciprocate her feelings. They would make such a cute couple! It's hard to believe how dense he can be, especially when he insulted her due to their cultural differences. Thankfully, he realized his mistake and made amends, but he still had no idea about her true feelings. That poor girl is really falling for him. Come on, Uchimura, open your eyes, and heart, to this demonic beauty! I still can't believe how Uchimura accidentally proposed to her, he’s hopeless, but I’m still rooting for him. 🥰🥰

@LacingMaster Regrettably, I'm inclined to agree. There's an abysmal lack of leadership in this world if Uchimura is considered so good. Then he finds a way to go one dumber by insulting Ulmander in the forest. Never mind cultural differences, even I found his wording pretty rude (hope those subtitles are accurate). Only positive point is they're pretty quick to fix their relationship after, albeit with some lingering misunderstanding as where their relationship is on a scale of professional to romantic.

By the time anyone realizes what he's going to do with that magic stone in the end, it's too late to take it back. Sure, you're going to make mistakes in a foreign culture, but even this seems like throwing caution to the wind just a little.

Aside, Ulmander reminds me of the lead heroine from Date A Live, Tohka.

I've seen people react positively and negatively to cooking in anime before, but I wasn't expecting Dennosuke to thoroughly roast Ulmandra's dish like that lol. Yet that was just a prelude to an even bigger issue. Dennosuke's advice towards Ulmandra was seen as a rejection of her and her values. Culture shock sure can be troublesome to deal with. They're making steps to remedy that and are leaving each other beet-red in the process. Cute!

The show itself is decently animated enough, the english dub has passable voice acting, and the plot of the show starts off strong with an interesting premise; however, the show is plagued by cheesy dialogue and anime tropes that really make themselves apparent in this episode.

I'm still willing to give the series a chance, I really enjoy the problem solving story loop (like a detective show but for interconinental conflicts), but if it fails to go anywhere it will likely be yet another unfinished show that I got 5 episodes into before dropping.

Uchimura getting a commendation for alliancing with the ogre tribe...and Ulmandra wants to go hunting, it's a decent way to fix the Demon Army's staple food.

Going hunting is not as easy as Uchimura puts it, but coupled together with Ulmandra...she's able to defeat the boar, but does it on her usual flame power so much so that it still doesn't look appetizing. It's only with Uchimura's touch that the demihumans can really appreciate food, or in this case, meat on a daily basis for the orcs. But given Ulmandra's easygoing thinking, Uchimura trying to convince her just will not do, and even worse, leave it hanging as confusion on the fantasy world, something which his efficient thinking just does not gel well with how demons think.

Thinking back on his words, Uchimura's offences towards Ulmandra may be uncalled for, but it's the same for the latter...wanting him to praise her for exposing her skin, that she went to Olulu for advice to how to reconcile with him. It all bounds on understanding each other's culture...but Uchimura's words defintely set her feelings ablaze, just as the Demon Army restarts its formation.

The commendation like a marriage proposal...welp, Uchimura still doesn't know tact on romance...
