Those are some high stakes gaming.

Seems both Qiao Ling and Lu Guang know more than Cheng Xiaoxhi.

A little thing I just noticed- in the op, certain letters in the credits are red and kinda look glitchy. When you write them all out, they spell out “Xavier” which is Liu Xiao’s english name.

Anyways about the episode- I preferred ep1 but I still think this was a good episode. All of the mysterious and foreboding scenes mixed in with the more playful scenes between the main trio really make me worried for what’s to come in this season. I feel like with every answer we get, five more questions appear. What’s the deal with Liu Xiao and Cheng Weimin? Why are certain details of the past changing, and what effects will those changes have? Why did Cheng Xiaoshi’s parents leave, and why did his mom not want him to come to bridon? What is their plan for going to bridon? Why is Vein after them? WHY CANT THEY JUST HAVE A HAPPY ENDING???

My only gripe about this episode was that the pacing was a bit weird- we spent half the episode with Liu Xiao and the other half with the main trio while not advancing the plot a ton. We did learn a good bit of context though and it helps explain why and how they first went to bridon, so hopefully future episodes will be more focused on continuing the bridon plot from there. I’m so excited for what’s to come, I already know this season is going to wreck me emotionally ;-;

To be fair, this is the format of the show for every season. The show takes it's time to reveal information to the viewers. And the beginning episodes of each season is usually slow and brings up a bunch of questions that will only get answered in the last 2 episodes of the season.

This episode was more of an intro to Liu Xiao since we as the viewer don't know him all that well. And the 2nd half centers on interactions with the trio and setting up Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang to go on their trip.

As for Ep 1 of Bridon, if you think about it, it is actually 3 episodes in one (most likely done because Chinese viewers would be mad if the show took 3 weeks to get to Bridon). And it feels more satisfying because 1 it was an hour long and within that time frame they were able to wrap up 2 stories.

Maybe Ep 2 feels less satisfying to you because it serves as an intro to actually going to Bridon and the villain. So there isn't really a conclusion or a big reveal of information which is why you feel like it didn't advance the plot (though going to Bridon technically advances the plot).

For me at least, pacing wise I felt it was just fine. It was a 20 minute episode but it went by quickly because I was engrossed on what was happening on screen. Also, because there are only 4 more episodes left, Bridon's storyline and pacing is actually much quicker than S1 and S2.

Anyways, apologies for the ramble. I'm an animation student so I like to analyze why folks react to certain shows and episodes since it helps me get better with storytelling.

i'm actually cooked bro... the tears, i can feel them coming soo T-T

what i find really interesting is how the red strings are around the clock or cogs, which write out BRIDON, and Lu Guang tugging on it... its probably signifying defying fate and moreover what is inhibiting from a "happy" ending since it shows vein after lu guang; particularly, how he said it, when vein was pointing a gun at him in episode one, and how lu guang was having a nightmare about it, this is neither the first nor last time too. i'm so stoked about the coming episodes

this season is going to really kill me... my poor heart T-T

Did everyone else notice the word "Rewind" in the letters that get flipped through in the OP?
Just a reminder: "VORTEX" was the OP song by Bai Sha JAWS for the past season & it had this unbelievably creative bit where the song was sung in Rewind.
Bai Sha JAWS are just linking everything together so beautifully.

I have a theory, see if you like it: Cheng Xiaoshi's mother spoke in this episode to never let Cheng Xiaoshi go to Bridon (London). Either because his parents knew about something in the future, or because his mother didn't want him to get involved in something bad or complicated that happened/will happen there (perhaps involving his own father?). Anyway, one important thing to note is that Vein says to Lu Guang: “This is the punishment for changing the past”, indicating that it wasn't Lu Guang's first attempt to save Cheng Xiaoshi. And where were they? In their photography studio, at home. In other words: I assume that Cheng Xiaoshi originally died during the trip the first time(s), but Lu Guang managed to prevent this and got Cheng Xiaoshi home “safely”. However, Vein followed them home and killed Cheng Xioashi in the introduction to episode 1 of this arc. Then Vein says (because Lu Guang tried to prevent Cheng Xiaoshi's death, returned home but failed in the end): “This is the punishment for changing the past”.

In other words, Lu Guang from season 1 and 2 somehow manages to get Cheng Xiaoshi back home to the Time Photo Studio safely. However, Lu Guang actually only postponed events somewhat because we see at the end of season 2 that Xiao Liu arrives from the airport. And what does he say to Tianchen Li (the pink-haired twin who controls the others by touch)? “It may seem like everyone only has thread of fate, but in actuality...it is woven from countless threads. Fate may be decided by someone's personality, OR IT MAY BE INFLUENCED BY OTHERS. We may want to change our fate, yet be unable to do so. I'd like to weave otgether more threads of fate, to transform all uncertainties into one certainty.” And what do we see in this episode? Lu Guang projecting various threads of wool onto a fate that he wants to try to change. For me, Xiao Liu returned from his trip at the end of season 2 because of Lu Guang/Cheng Xiaoshi. Xiao Liu's speech to Tianchen Li wasn't out of the blue, he realized this thing about different destinations/timelines because of Cheng Xiaoshi/Lu Guang, and it was precisely on Bridon's trip (that he arrives from there to the country/region that our protagonists are currently in in seasons 1 and 2).

Lu Guang has succeeded, so far, in keeping Cheng Xiaoshi safe even after the trip (we saw him fail when Vein followed them to the Time Photo Studio and killed Cheng Xiaoshi). However, he may just have postponed something. I had thought that maybe he had managed to get Cheng Xiaoshi not to go to Bridon by getting Bridon to go to them at the end of season 2 with Xiao Liu. But in episode 7 of the first season, when Cheng Xiaoshi travels to the past himself to save the life of the missing boy, Cheng Xiaoshi encounters Qiao Ling and Shanshan Xu in the past while crossing a street corner. Shansan Xu wonders: “For real? Didn't you go overseas?” Qiao Ling says: “I don't understand. He and Lou aren't supposed to be back yet.” So it kind of confirms that they have indeed traveled somewhere, which is most likely Bridon. Unless Lu Guang persuaded Cheng Xiaoshi or somehow managed to get them to travel somewhere else, but I don't think that's the case. So, if the Cheng Xiaoshi from the first season goes back in time and we have confirmation that this Cheng Xiaoshi from this line traveled on vacation previously, confirmed in this episode from the first season, and he's still alive, it means that at least so far, Vein hasn't killed him in the photo studio. Lu Guang says at the end of the second season: “I still want to use the last chance to go back to the beginning and save you”. So this could sort of imply that Cheng Xiaoshi hasn't actually freed himself from the bonds of fate completely, and Lu Guang fears this because he has already witnessed Cheng Xiaoshi being killed even after returning to their photography studio (although he managed to successfully save him on the trip and up until the present of the series, seasons 1 and 2, Cheng Xiaoshi hasn't died, he knows that Cheng Xiaoshi has already been killed even when they were back at home, by Vein). And Xiao Liu's arrival confirms it. They're still not that safe, possibly. But if this is “the last chance”, possibly it's the line that Lu Guang has managed to keep Cheng Xiaoshi alive the longest (which would make things even more unpredictable for Lu Guang, because he would never have progressed that far in all the other attempts, making him not know what exactly to do next since this line has gone beyond the key points he knew). Or, perhaps Lu Guang has already gone through the events of season two (but failed from them) and now he's using his last chance to try and prevent the evils of season three.

I think it's pretty important that Liu Min is related to the glasses guy, I don't know how I remember him from all the way in season 1 lol. Anyway that whole russian roulette scene reminded me of the recent one in Squid Game

Excited to see what goes down in Bridon, the red hair time guy is going there too. Also I'm guessing this is potentially where someone with Cheng Xioshi's time power dies in front of him? The thought randomly popped up in my head as the episode finished

@prozyne
I want explanation for this.
Seems like Vein cloned Xiaoshi's phone number.

Xiaoshi discovered the photo and at the same day he says he is going to Bridon in a week.
A reservation for that flight appears on Vein's phone, but the message he scrolls up is about the same flight, saying the ticket was reserved a month ago.
Why did Xiaoshi purchased a ticket to that flight a month before finding the photo?

Also, of course Xiaoling didn't said anything to Xiaoshi, because the information she knew was specifically to not let Xiaoshi know about and go to Bridon.
Xiaoling didn't received that instruction directly, but she is smart enough to know that if he knew he would be in danger.
