I watched the 1st 3 episodes of the anime. It was ok but the pacing felt too fast then I watched the 1st episode of the drama out of curiosity. It was way better than the anime. Should I still continue with the anime? What do you recommend? (Also, does the drama follow the manga?pls answer if you know.)

As for the manga, I don't know, but I've never read it. However, the anime is very good in my opinion, I cried a lot and the ending is understandable.

the anime is a bit fast, but it's nice overall. I haven't read the manga, so I can't really comment much on that. However, I do know that the manga readers have said it was a well written story, so I assume it doesn't face the same fast pacing.

The anime rushed the story a bit and completely cut a side character that really helps build up the explanation of what happened to Marika/ takae. The anime is a good summary of the story but if you want to understand it even better, read the manga. It’s only 112 chapters iirc

I would suggest that you should hold off on the drama (live action ver) until you're done with the anime. I've seen the netfix version, and it was all over the place being over indulgent, taking its sweet time for the plot to move. The anime, for the most part, gets to the point right away without the fluff to fill the bloated 1 hr per episode.

They should really do their whining at manga forums.

@Janethan23 I'm really liking the live-action version so far. I think I'm going to finish it before the anime and manga. I also didn't like how the anime handled the first episode. I mean, Takae dies, then comes back and just says, "Oh, you proposed to me there" "Mai's first boyfriend was her classmate" and they just reacted with, "Oh! Mama's back." On the other hand, in the live-action, they didn't believe it at first, which is much more natural. By the end of the episode, when they realize that Marika is Takae, it has a much stronger emotional impact than the anime. The episode ends on a wholesome note. Overall, I think the live-action is doing a better job than both the anime and manga so far (at least up to episode 2).

@Chainsaw_Heart Ehhh... if you say so. If you believe that those scenes that over emphasizes the narrative and drags the plot to a snail's pace then go ahead and enjoy it for every minute its worth. The live action pretty much is like what players do in a role playing game... doing too many side quest that do nothing for the main story but are part of the game.
