Season 3 is supposed to have 38 episodes. After the 2nd cour in February, they may announce the remaining 22 episodes (arc 6) as S4.

@Autumn_Sora according to leaks, s3 will be 38 episodes, 16 and then 22 later on. nothing confirmed yet, but the leaker is ice, so it's probably true. so, you may be correct about s4 in 2028, but i think it's more likely they brand the 22 episodes as s4, since it's a whole separate arc, and then the next season (which may very well come out in 2028-29 if they keep up this quality and quantity) would be s5

@Autumn_Sora Leakers have been stating for about a year now that RE:Zero has 38 episodes planned for adaptation, (Most trustworthy of these is Ice, from Witch Cult Translations, who fan translate the Web-novel, side stories, and twitter posts.)

The first 16 of these will certainly be Arc 5 (divided into the first 8 Attack episodes, and second 8 counter attack episodes.) that leaves the remaining 22 eps to cover Arc 6 which most people agree is a solid amount to adapt Arc 6 faithfully.

2028 It's too long time 😔
I thought season 4 will air on 2025 or 2026. 2 to 3 years gap means a lot. Since it is re:zero i have no choice. I will wait for long time for this masterpiece 👍🏻

@PraneshChow I DO NOT recommend reading the manga because the anime is more ahead than the manga, but the light novel is at arc 8 while the web novel, is at arc 9... the author has confirmed that re zero will have 11 arcs.

@PraneshChow just to make a correction, re:zero will actually have 12 arcs now, what the author originally planned to be arc 7 ended up being split into both 7 and 8. And apparently the last arc will be extra long, so there's still a lot left. Also, the light novel is exactly at the same spot as the web novel is to my knowledge, one volume into arc 9.

4 years sounds like the best case scenario

S3 is 38 episodes long including 1-2 ninety minute movies, so 41-44 episodes worth of content, and it covers 10 volumes of the light novel.

The next saga, however, is thirteen volumes.

On top of that, it's even more action heavy than S3.

Then there is an issue of prequels, several prequel volumes are considered necessary reading before starting it (as per the author's words), which means either

1. We'll get a prequel season in a few years, and then have to wait several more years for s4 to air.

2. White fox will just skip them altogether and make the anime even more confusing for anime onlies (the more likely option).
