 Production company Shueisha DeNA Projects opened an official website for a television anime adaptation of Teren Mikami's Watashi ga Koibito ni Nareru Wake Nai jan, Muri Muri! (※Muri ja Nakatta!?) (There's No Freaking Way I'll be Your Lover! Unless...) light novel on Tuesday, revealing the main cast, staff, a teaser visual (pictured), and teaser promo. Shueisha published the sixth volume on November 29 last year. Watanare has a cumulative 500,00 copies of its volumes in print. Musshu (Hana wa Saku, Shura no Gotoku) began drawing a manga adaptation on the Suiyoubi wa Mattari Dash X Comic website in May 2020. Shueisha released the seventh volume on September 19. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed both the light novel and manga in English in May 2022. The fifth light novel volume went on sale on September 10, with the sixth volume planned for a February 11, 2025 release. The sixth manga volume shipped on October 22, with the seventh volume set to be released on June 24, 2025. Synopsis Renako Amaori is leaving her awkward and lonely junior high school life behind, determined to become a normal girl with normal friends in high school. Glamorous, confident Mai Ouzuka is Renako's total opposite: wealthy, outgoing, and a literal fashion model. Against the odds, the two girls form an immediate connection. Renako thinks she may have found the best friend of her dreams...until Mai's romantic confession sends her into a tailspin. Renako wants to prove to Mai that being BFFs is better than being girlfriends, but Mai is dead set on convincing Renako that they're destined to be lovers. Let the love games begin! | Given the cover and title, I initially thought it was an all-female isekai. @Mukuro_15 The adaptation of this manga has now become something of a boogeyman, hasn't it? @wildhood We're probably going back to the "2-3 full-length yuri anime every year" schedule. |
