Kei took a huge risk for a high stake game. With 20 million yen for grabs, it felt like he couldn't resist this deal even if the stakes involves...getting his toes chopped off. Yikes.

What a cliffhanger too. This show is getting crazier.

Damn look out for the Ice K
Taking all your tiles away
Making all the players pay
cause its not just a game

Even though the art is subpar the tone and dialogue rock.

bro won and lost at the same time.

in seriousness though, I'm pretty dissapointed with current direction of the story... episode 1 and 2 is so far better, hopefully the next one will be better

This show's telling me now that the price to join Ichigun is to chop toes off anyways, despite the fact he won off his uradora? I guess he wasn't awake for it but.. that just feels like a cheap move. Not like he's gonna get 10 million to have the toe reattached, right? The ending did make me have a brief moment where I asked myself how long does it need to be for a body part to be unable to be reattached. I'd assume there's some time limit for it, but I guess that demands a little bit of research.

Still, his wits and willingness to gamble proved to win the 2v2. Paired with a guy who limited himself, MC was able to dominate the game while putting his partner down a couple kegs. I got to see some beautiful hands, and I can imagine the shoes of the opponent not wanting to break his perfect setup. Sometimes, hands just look that good.. and it's a shame to lose them.

Great episode,best one yet,

Pretty intense match from the start, ignoring the Yakuza rules was a gamble and it seems K lost while winning (Pinky o7)

Getting the Akagi/Kaiji part 3 vibe more and more, always love when risk and luck are tackled, makes it more exciting.

And i gotta say even if this is niche 6.39 general rating is absolutely stupid, we get it's low budget but does mahjong need more animation wise? Get it to 7.00 atleast asap !

Also always nice hearing Takehito Koyasu's voice, like in Fable it seems he accepts even low gigs while doing a good job at it.

Did I miss something? At the end of the last episode K agreed that playing safe and keeping his life is the most important thing, yet now he plays a high-stakes Yakuza match, betting his toes for pride of all things. I'm not sure how becoming a cripple is much more acceptable than death.

I'm with you here, I'm happy as the next Yakuza thug to get an anime based on Mahjong, but I have no idea what the show aims for or is trying to be (25 episodes too, wow).

That aside, I'm really vibing with the 80s/90s style ED.

Kei going into another high-stakes game alongside his teammate Hatakeyama rep-playing against both the Ourin Group and Sasayama Clan, it becomes clear that the latter is more than just the lazy brat that he is. But Kei isn't going to falter behind as well, putting his pride on the table as well.

This is made worse of the fact that the losers will lose their body parts, and Kei doesn't mind gambling because of the thrill, which led to his comeback stint against Hatakeyama and the Ourin Group...despite losing a toe to be forcefully joined to the dark side.

Stakes have never been this high, when losing body parts become the gamble.
