So they use this opportunity to let anime onlies know that Al was Isekai'd from Japan as well, something that was skipped in season 1.

It's depressing how they revealed such crucial information in a freaking short that most people outside Japan would never watch. Same goes for a lot of these Break Time episodes actually.

Hope they'll still incorporate this piece of info into the anime in the future.

This was a pretty interesting reveal episode, shame it was put in a place many English fans probably won’t watch.

These gotta be mandatory watches from now on. No way can information like this not be crucial to the story

It's absolutely wild including a massive revelation like this in a series of chibi shorts that the vast majority of people simply won't watch. Even more so when these shorts aren't being officially subbed and the fansubs are often a pain to find, reducing the number of people who will watch these even more.

Maybe if this season of Re:ZERO was allowed longer episodes after episode 1 like previous seasons were, this wouldn't be a problem and stuff like this could be included. But no, this huge reveal is here instead and most of the anime-only fandom will now have no idea of why Al is so important and why he acts as he does.

I've already talked about how crazy it is that this was revealed in a way that basically 95% of the audience would never knew/care to watch it. They'll never know that Al is a Japanese dude that came from the original world into this world, exactly like Subaru, albeit 19 years ago.
This is the most utterly mindblowing revelation for an anime-only.

Al's request to Beatrice is one of most utmost solemnity. One that comes straight from his heart for his fellow brethren, the one and only in this uncaring world.

On a lighter note, it's amusing to see Beatrice affirming that she'll protect Subaru without anyone telling her to do so and that only HE gets to call her Beako. What a drastic change from last year (in Re;Zero timeline).

Aw, Al is such bro. And we anime only got finally confirmed Al is from Japan even though I read it plenty of times from readers. Nice. Well. If you bother to watch these Break times as well, I suppose.

Of course they decided to include it in Chibi shorts of all things. Probably Tappei's decision like that time he decided it would be cool to introduce Hoshin in Isekai Quartet. Not even a side story, but straight up Isekai Quartet.

For the love of Od Laguna, plz make a Director's Cut and include this in S3.

I think it just might be more important than anything revealed in S3 so far.

WTF. Mind blown. Why wasn't this in the main series?

I kid you not that I care more about this one short than any of the witch cult stuff that's happening right now in season 3. This information just changed my entire view of the show. I genuinely had no idea other than one comment I read alluding to him being similar to Subaru which I didn't think about too deeply.

Like I get corners needing to be cut when adapting light novels but this is not it. I honestly would've rather cut some of the fights to include this.

Anyway I'm really glad I watched this as this is the highlight of the season for me so far.
