Well, i would say it has some reasons for it. Im not sure, but probobly the autor made it special, to show how good chii or hina looks in his light. right at the beggining they were saying that he is not in her league. It may also be this reason, imagine the mc would be gigchad sigma the best character who would carry the anime, how would she not fall for him then? its probobly on purpose, to show how she will slowly fall for him and his good heart, and not his looks or "loser wibe"
