| The animation is great some parts but also looks a rough in some other parts which is okay but the pacing is actually pretty bad if you directly compare it to the manga. I gave it a 7/10 and the manga 8/10 which is only a one point difference though maybe closer to two points since manga is like 8.4 and anime 6.7. Also many people hated the story in how it doesnt explain what happened, even though that is part of the horror subgenre this is in. Entirely possible if not read the manga it could have been same score maybe a 7.7 to me bumped up to 8 but just maybe im not sure. I saw first ep without the manga and that was great then i tried reading the manga guessing how far I should read and at some point decided I should just read whole thing once i ngot to 3rd episode on noticing too many differences but Id say yes better to just read the manga then watch the anime for the quality animation parts you see first and last ep and not worry about being spoilered by reading the manga, Middle two are not so good animation but not awful either. Just treat it as eye candy for being unique animation style. |

| @WaffleMaster89 Read the manga, watch the first episode and call it a day. Anime's pacing is already disastrous from the get go but now I wish that was the only issue the adaptation had... OST is great tho. Maybe you can listen to it while reading the manga for immersion purposes. |

| People are just being harsh and overreacting. Sure, the first episode was better than the next three, and the anime doesn't live up to the manga, but it definitely doesn’t deserve such a low score |

Sure, it was a huge disrespect to fire Hiroshi Nagahama and replacing him with Yūji Moriyama, considering he is known for being a shitty director, but at least the EDs for episodes 3 and 4 really tried. Either way, only episode 1 lived up to expectations. Episode 2 sucked while episodes 3 and 4 improved, but still lacked polishment. Overall, this anime is inconsistent in its quality, but IMO, I don't think it deserves low 6s like this. I think a 6,9-7,0 should be fair. |

| The trailer and five years of wait promised we'd get something good, instead we had close to PowerPoint animation for 3/4 of it and many plot points being rushed or straight up skipped. Pretty reasonable for this to get a low score. |

| @LostSpectre I think combining things worked relatively well for the first episode and less so the second but not the third at all that was terrible. If they just had one or two more episodes they might have been able to have better pacing and not have to overlap events so much though that's just a realistic number really it should be 6 to 8 episodes. |
