Laust's decision this episode didn't surprise me. He wants to be independent and be his own person.

Tbh, it feels like he is the most rational character in this show. Guys like Margulus seems to get into fight and trouble. Even that Lyra girl might have flaws.

Starting to feel bad for the guy with the axe at this point.

Also glad Laust's didn't go back with Blades of Lightning, it seems he is a reasonable and sensible MC compared to the other side characters at this point.
Got the feeling that the blades will fail and Laust is gonna come to the rescue against the Hydra.

I am expecting Swords of Lightning to get thrashed again by the hydra next episode, maybe with some cowardice by Margulas, may with some fatalities, and the party to break up.
The OP seems to indicate that Lyra, Armia, and Sieg join Laust's party at some point.

Laust is very steady, even tempered even under abuse, and thoughtful, and lnows lots about a lot of subjects. He will make a very good leader.

Not going to call it the worst tv series of 2024 but it's definitely at the bottom level.

@Eva_PhoenixAnime I feel for that guy's poor foot. It's almost like a Monty Python sight gag by this time. You know it's coming.. LOL

Despite what some others say, I'm enjoying this.

Decent characters, nice art stye, and very entertaining.

Sure, it won't win any awards, but as long as it keeps me interested for 20 minutes and I'm enjoying the story, it's a thumbs up from me.

Looking forward to the next episode to see how much Margulus get thrashed.

The sword of lightning are finally learning that Laust isn't you average healer i see, and as expected they came crawling back. Glad to see Laust isn't doubting his choice or considering going back, he's got a strong state of mind and isn't easily swayed, which i find surprisingly rare in these animes. Please keep giving us great characters like that!

Poor axe guy is gonna lose his toe if he keeps this up

The refusal to come up with a compelling reason they can't just leave their toxic party is infuriating. sure, the flimsy excuse of being new and unfamiliar half worked at first, but you're not green anymore. you know the party is trash. just leave it.

if you're being blackmailed or smth, that'd be a proper reason, but we're left to invent that reason to justify Armia's behaviour and it just kinda sucks

Not surprised they're going with the tropey "original party realizes they need the MC" storyline, even though it continues to depend on the original party being ludicrously incompetent (which Lyra seems to recognize pretty much instantly). I have nothing against the tropey plot, I liked most of the ones listed below and more.

Nevertheless, the original party's incompetence doesn't excuse Laust's own deception, for which he was justifiably kicked out. Even after the idiots realize he was useful, it wasn't as a healer, it was as DPS. They do need a healer, a role Laust was not and still cannot perform, and which he should not have held himself out as.

Which of these things is not like the others?

Best tank in the world kicked out for being a bad tank (A Tank with a Rare 9999 Resistance Skill Got Kicked from the Hero's Party)
Best soldier in the world kicked out for being a bad soldier (Chillin' in My 30s after Getting Fired from the Demon King's Army)
Most powerful mage in the world kicked out for being a weak mage (strongest sage with the weakest crest)
Most powerful hero in the world kicked out for being a weak hero (Chillin’ in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers)
Guy with most powerful ability mistreated for having a weak ability (Berserk of Gluttony)
Best support in the world is kicked out for being useless as support (Banished From The Hero's Party, I Decided To Live A Quiet Life In The Countryside)
Strongest tamer in the world kicked out for being weak as tamer (beast tamer)

Etc.
Worst healer in the world is kicked out for being a bad healer

That's right. Only one of these animes has the MC absolutely justifiably kicked out for being horrible at the class role he's supposed to be filling when he could have resolved the issue by being truthful about his skill and role. That's why, even though Laust is a strong MC and his former party is full of stupid assholes, I can't get on his side. The mangaka kicked himself in the nuts right from the start with this plot.

I think I have watched the entire list... lol XD but the only one I truly appreciateted was Beast Tamer.
Berserk of Gluttony was a little bit interesting, the others are all forgettable...
lv. 2 kara cheat was only partially saved by Rys-chan but nothing special, same thing for Banished From The Hero's Party, I Decided To Live A Quiet Life In The Countryside, I loved Ruti, the kuudere imouto, she's a funny character, but the anime itself was not so great.

A good episode that showed just how useless Margulus is.
I like how even Laust threatened him if he tried to hurt Narsena.
Laust is such a nice guy, easily forgiving Armia like that.
Lyra seems to be a decent human being, shame she joined that awful party.

I have ADD, ADHD & AUTISM, but this won't stop me. Let's keep having fun together.

So, will Lyra & Armia end up joining Laust and Narsena by end of next episode or are they gonna stay with that jerk Margulus' group? Or perhaps they'll leave the group and form their own. Either way, good for Laust for standing his ground and not letting his former party leader persuade him to rejoining them.

Fate from Berserk of Gluttony was weak. No one knew that his skill would activate once he killed someone. Spoiler for anyone who hasn’t read the novel >

@Zeanova don't worry, I liked it, but it's an anime that can be perceived as mid, it's a matter of personal taste.
In my opinion it stands above others of the same genre quoted in the list of the user amf85 and as I agree with you Tania and Kanade are worth the watch ^_^

Feel like there ultimately wasn't that much progression in this episode, but it was still entertaining.

Also guess that the new healer lady is actually a noble or something who Sieg joined to protect.

Feel that Laust has no obligation to help them at all, and that the mage girl should just leave the Lightning Sword party really but 🤷

They have already left out a ton from the manga especially regarding Armia and her apology to Laust. All of what wasn’t shown was relevant so I’m not sure why that was done. Who knows what all they will leave out..

Armia's logic is impeccable indeed. Confronted that she must have known that the party was exploiting and abusing Laust, her excuse is that she "didn't know any better".
Are you kidding me? You thought cutting Laust short and letting him sleep in a closet could be acceptable in any way? That's one of the poorest excuses ever presented, but of course she cried so she was forgiven. Reasonable.
Laust is a bit too conflict-averse honestly. Him not letting the guild the thing with his embezzled payment from his old party and forgiving all of them just like that is really disappointing, brother needs a backbone.

This is a bit painful to watch. A completely normal reaction would be to first ask the yellow guy to pay back all the party split he stole earlier, before continuing the conversation.

Or, if he likes the crybaby mage so much, invite her to join them here and now.

Instead, judging by the next ep title, MC might be planning to force Narsena, his actual companion, to risk both their lives for no reason or benefit. Pitiful for everybody involved.

so they tied up the loose end of "why was he hiding that he's strong": turns out he wasn't hiding it
just the leader of his old party didn't realize it, because he's a moron
and the MC himself didn't figure out that he is actually pretty powerful, because he's, well, pretty slow (but still to a beliveable degree, not like the guy from the parry anime last season)
and this is actually a character trait, which is very rare in these animes, MC having any sort of character
MC not being the typical Kirito is a big plus for me

give poor Armia a break, she's just a kid, probably around the same age as Narsena, this is her first party, she probably haven't been adventuring for too long, of course she's not gonna oppose her seniors

of course not anime of the season, but so far a well-made fantasy show

the only slightly annoying thing is Narsena spamming

The refusal to come up with a compelling reason they can't just leave their toxic party is infuriating. sure, the flimsy excuse of being new and unfamiliar half worked at first, but you're not green anymore. you know the party is trash. just leave it.

if you're being blackmailed or smth, that'd be a proper reason, but we're left to invent that reason to justify Armia's behaviour and it just kinda sucks
@tarfeef101
I truly believe there’s an underlying evil to Armia or she is attracted to the leader of Blades. She didn’t care what happened to the mc during their stint in the party nor does she care what happens now if he were to join again. She only cared about her personal gain of pleasing the leader and keeping him safe. Requesting for the mc to join the party again was extremely selfish. I was sickened watching that.

Yeah, I can’t get behind those saying that Laust is at fault for deceiving the party. Party knew full well what Lausts capabilities were and chose to ignore his advice of bringing potions. On top of that, they were ripping him off. Lastly, the only reason he was kicked was cuz the leader wanted a scapegoat.

Also hope Armia isn’t part of Lausts new party, but id be down if Lyra joined. Laust is too chill to be upset about her excuses and invitation, but I’m not ☺️

@tarfeef101 yeah that "i can't abandon my trash leader because he is my companion" shit really made the mage kinda shitty in her own way. At least Narsena called her out on it though. No one is that naive to not realize the blades of lightning weren't treating him like total shit.

Armia is braindead and has terrible logic, well in reality the writing is the problem. Are we suppose to sympathize or feel any empathy here lmao... doesn't apologize till she needs something but has been apparently "agonizing" over it. Really lame asking for his help... show doesn't even make a compelling reasoning for her feeling this strong urge to be with them beyond saying they're her companions and shes afraid to be kicked out.... like why... find a new party. Now Lyra is protecting her and she can't leave cause of Armia... this show man it's a mess. I hope they reveal a better reason for armias nonsense.

So further confirmation that his party KNEW they were being entirely carried by Laust and still abused him intensely. I was hoping we would be done with them, but instead, the mage, who I originally actually felt bad about and thought she was in a lot of internal pain and scared of fighting back... but nooooo, she's like "nah, I'm with him because he's crew!!!" bitch fuck you. I originally wanted her and healer and new guy to join Laust, but holy hell. I can see the healer staying, since healer mentality and caring for the girl, but fuck. I thought we would get some real tea this episode, but just got old tea.
My guess is Laust will come save them and take out hydra, Knight and Healer will join Laust, and mage will stop being adventurer.

@Souljasleet Yeah, when she pointed to him, I thought she was in internal turmoil and scared, but after what she did here and her actual reasoning. Absolutely sickening. I won't go lower on my score, but will be very annoyed if she joins Laust (healer and knight is fine)

Dude... this blades guy is fucked up.

I want to jump into the anime and beat up the old party. They're all trash.

(not the new healer, she's innocent)

But hey, at least Narsena is fairly rational (she keeps on pointing out contradictions, lol)

Tho, looks like MC might actually accept this mage girl if she does end up wanting to join into MC's party...

And Narsena won't object cause otherwise she would have already said so.

.

"trust a guy that doesn't show his face"
