Her hair is styled like a waterdop; no strands drawn at all, just curves to her hair.

Providing other images to compare.

That's a curious retro style. I don't know if that was a deliberate thing from the artist/animators, or they were trying to save on a budget (which is a possibility). But anyway it gives her a unique retro charm that makes her very distinct.

Interesting observation, looks plausible. Would be interesting to hear what the motivations behind the hair was.

Got to say, I’m really enjoying this anime

She kinda reminds me of Connie from Steven’s Universe.

Edit to clarify, because sometimes her hair has been drawn like that

And how do you think her hair looking like different would affect the budget? Throwing more money at animators won't make them draw more lines or add more details. Obviously it's a creative choice. Stop making everything about money, it doesn't work like that.

@ukloim You may be correct that it's a creative choice. All the other girls in the show have fairly detailed hairstyles, in contrast to Hana. I should have spotted that before.

Definitely gave me Urusei Yatsura and Ranma vibes since ep1, it is a bit jaring compared to everyone else but still cool

Her personality is also great and she is voiced by Fairouz Ai, truly an amazing character

Kozue is cuter tho 😄

It's definitely interesting, but I'm not sure I like it.

The art style is fine on its own, but for me it clashes a bit with the realistic background art and the other characters' design.

There's that other older guy too, who looks like someone from Doraemon or something:

Astro Note is another recent show I can think of that had a similarly retro, hodge-podge art style, but everything still fit together better in that show:

Definitely adds to her charm.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

@perseii yeah, the characters have differing art styles which kinda bugs me. There are the more realistic ones like Takaaki and Kozue, but then there are the more stylized, caricature ones like the older guy and Ice.

There are more Hana hairstyles in the latest episode, all drawn in a retro style. I find all of them cute.
