Absolutely didn't expect that, last episode ended in a pretty open way with no hints of a possible sequel pretty strange.

Still even with all its flaws it was a fun ride so i'll be here for s2

Also i hope we see an older Hojo

I actually liked the first season a lot, despite hating the 2nd episode (the whiplash between jokes and the protag's family's death was a tad too much for me). I'm scared to see that manga's score is low though. Hopefull it doesn't get worse

That is a little surprising and I haven't read it so not sure why, but I'd assume it was the art direction/animation that really carried the anime to another level then. They could have also ironed out the flipping between tones you brought up if the manga was a little rougher with it.

Based on the manga reviews, the main issue is the pacing and that can be fixed in an adaptation.

i mean i love tokiyuki but knowing the real history a little, makes me so sad bcz there wont be any happy ending -prob-

im here for the pain and the absurd comedy yay! so glad to get another season

That one reviewer is braindead. There's nothing wrong with the manga's pacing

What do you mean by "that one"? There are 5 reviews on the manga and 4 of them mentioned the pacing. It is hard to say that there's only one.

What do you mean by "that one"? There are 5 reviews on the manga and 4 of them mentioned the pacing. It is hard to say that there's only one.

@ktg Manga rating is low because the pacing for the first few chapters were quick and then they dropped it hence low rating. The manga has a weak start (not bad) and the comedy(hit or miss) never really goes away but it is reduced a fair bit after a certain point. First season of the anime is pretty much a prequel, second season should be a lot better story/plot wise. Overall the manga is pretty solid and consistent after the earlier parts and doesn't have many lows.
