Ben was just a random thug and that issue got resolved in kind - at the drop of a hat - , there's been no actual "face-off" between Rui & Hina for Nat's feelings because Hina never got a chance to talk about it, Tsukiko was thought to be "final boss" that Natsuo & Rui have to get to accept their relationship but that got wrapped up just as fast, so...it's been waaaaayyy too long. Tanabe here gives me has that smooth & calculated villain act going for him and the looks to back it up. That face just oozes menace! |

Some prisons give permission to send emails nowadays. Furthermore, people make contacts in prison and Tanabe already had some shady contacts before so it's hardly a surprise he still had some, or made new ones to pass this info on to the journalist dude. About the writing, I don't think most of us Hina fans have called the past 13 or so chapters or so good writing, besides a few bits & pieces. Everything's been so anti-climatic & went along way too smooth. How can you say that this is why her work is failing when a big part of why the manga got so popular is the tension such arcs add? Could you imagine how less popular DnK would've been if the majority of the story was as tension-less as 249+? Some of the drama will of course, be forced, but not having it at all would make the story quite boring. Of course, this new arc could also be resolved at the drop of a hat thus failing, but Tanabe's appearance gives me some hope that it at least has the potential to be the "final boss" challenge for our main characters that has yet to come. Relax, not seeking any Rui & Nat break-up or anything here, as their relationship has been set in stone in the last couple of months, just a solid climax ending to do the manga justice. (also, some form of closure for Hina would be nice too) |
