I think it is wonderful moment when Deku states to AFO that he is not a demon lord beyond understanding, but a lonely man. It is not meant to be a moment of sympathy from Deku, but reiterating how pathetic All For One is as a person roleplaying as a megalomaniacal villain. There were points where I disliked how All For One reinserted himself into the story, but I think this final moment does redeem some of that by recharacterizing All For One as a desperate despot clinging to relevancy. All For One trying to do all of this to, seeking power and control, to fill his meaningless and mean-spirited existence. It is the ultimate condemnation from Deku to point out that he is just a man, not some god or comic book villain, who lashed out while pretending his loneliness was the result of being superior rather than being an emotionally stunted man child. The truest and most intimate insult one could give someone like AFO is apathy and pity, not hatred and fear. I am much more mixed on how they handled Tomura, and kind of think it is...bad? |

 Really?! This is so cringe. Why did you have to make even All For One cringe Kohei?! Can there be no cool villains? Does everybody have to be a bitch for Deku to conquer? Yuck. At least Deku killed someone. He technically "crumbled away" but I'll give the kill to Deku. I didn't think Kohei had it in him to do this. |
