| Nobody knows for sure. The series is deliberately ambiguous on this matter and the first part of the comic (up to the seventh volume) never tried to explain Verndio's place in the larger Helck story aside from a few teases here and there. |

| I'm 90% sure this is a sequel in terms of timeline, based on a certain event that happened there's almost no way it could be a prequel. The main issue is there's currently barely anything linking the 2 together right now. No characters from the Helck manga have shown and there's not too much from the story or world to link them together. For all we know this could take place 2000 years after Helck and there's really no way to know any better than that. It's possible that the author did this intentionally to keep them separate even though they "likely" take place in the same world and the Helck setting is in a different part of the world or they may not even share the same world for their story, again nothing can be said for certain other than it would almost certainly take place afterwards. My best guess is we could have a better idea of how these 2 series are linked together after the hiatus is over because of "story reasons" that happened after the last chapter or we might not it's really anyone's guess for almost anything regarding how Helck and this manga are related. |
