| lol similar issue with Tristan's dad in the flashback (although not Tristan himself) VA clearly american or something doing a terrible British accent. Upon looking up the other guy with the scar (Carmine) his VA is American and actually quite established, he has some great performances under his belt like Childe in Genshin, I think he could've given a better performance without trying to do the accent at all. It's not like the accents are mandatory, it's already a localisation/adaptation so it's not like the japanese team have accents, then you have an american team when everyone already sounds american, what good do accents do there? So idunno why they feel the british characters must have british accents, but then don't hire british VAs or at least people who can do convincing accents. I think this is actually the fault of the ADR director and casting rather than on the VAs themselves, since it's a repeated issue with different roles/VAs, maybe they didn't have a trained ear to hear what a convincing accent sounds like so we get these performances with poor efforts at british accents, instead of just hiring a VA that's actually British or one that can at least do a convincing/passing accent. |
