| I think it's fascinating how machine lifeforms in this show behaves. The ones encountered this episode were hostile and threatened the peace of a village. A2 has been getting tons of spotlight while being associated with machines. She fights one that looks very similar to the first boss from the game. What a badass though. I never doubted A2's combat abilities but she wasn't afraid to go up against that monster machine. 9S' scenes this episode were crazy...damn. |

| Another awesome episode from A-1 that further solidifies A2 as best girl. We continue the parallel journey of A2 and 9s as they both discover the similarities of machines and Yorha androids in different ways. For A2, fighting alongside machines and seeing Pascal and the other’s willingness to sacrifice themselves to protect the group moves her. She was already warming up to them in her own tsun tsun way, but when you fight alongside someone and see how they handle pressure, that’s when you really build trust. For 9s, still reeling from the grief of losing 2B, finding out that the machines and Yorha are similar from the machine’s data archive damn near killed him. When you realise you’re not fighting some inherently evil creation, but something just like you that’s following orders it really makes you question your whole purpose. Whereas before he had 2B to lean on when stuff like this came up, 9s is now all alone and the studio are doing a great job of conveying is loneliness, confusion and pain. Action stuff as usual great this week. Pascal came in clutch both in the initial machine assault with those massive guns and then after A2’s berserker mode wasn’t enough for the Goliath. He may be a nice dude, but if it’s to protect his family Pascal will go to any length. Can’t wait to see more of the fight next episode. Seeing the machine village burning was rough too, especially since A2 had literally just started getting used to being there and helping the machines and boom, she loses another home π’ love her sm. |

| Sometimes you just need a minigun and a rocket launcher. Both A2 and 9S had their losses in this episode. But A2 seen a Goliath-class dropkick another. A2 had a cooler day, meanwhile 9S had to study history. |

| Some more original content mixed with actual canon stuff. The visuals were kinda the weakest so far in the season, but everthing else was pretty neat. Oh and no more puppet theaters. |

| Pascal coming in with a machine gun and freaking bazookas is hilarious but also badass. It seemed like they managed to save the village but then additional rogue machine lifeforms had to fuck it all up. Man. Not many survivors left except Pascal and some child machine lifeforms. I think this is the first time A2 went Berserker mode in the anime. It looked badass as it should. 9S is slowly learning the truth. I feel so bad about the guy. He's on a downward spiral and at this point it seems like he's beyond saving. The puppet play was a bit longer than usual again but only featured the pods. And the pods were talking about scheduling?! Wtf. I thought it was a reference to NieR Automata Season 1's troubled scheduling. The puppet plays were already kinda 4th wall breaking but this one felt like it broke the 5th wall cause of how meta it was compared to the previous ones. Anyway, they announced the end of these post-credits scenes. Sad but this was gonna happen eventually. Only 4 episodes left. We're so close to the end. I really hope the last 4 episodes will be done justice and they won't be delayed indefinitely or anything like that. That'd suck. Can't wait to see how they adapt the finale. |

| Imagine facing a whole swarm of charging robots though. Though weak individually their numbers mean that the damage they can do to the village would be immense if not stopped. Nice to see pascal get his cool moment. Shame that the enemy out thought them though. Meanwhile 9s is having quite the time learning some rather unnerving revelations about himself. That scene with the memories esp was pretty sad. Things are only gotta get grimmer as we speed towards the end. But im glad that pascal got a much bigger role in the anime. |

| No more puppet theater means longer episodes! At this point, with 3-4 episodes left and sure fire climactic events about to happen, puppet theater has done its job, and it's no longer needed. |

| When the episode started, I was a bit scared for the machine lifeform village. And then we got a little moment of happiness. Immediately that was all stripped away. Seeing them get killed off was genuinely heartbreaking for me. Pascal is really the goat. |
| The Pascal's Village defensive was very nice, I really like these anime original scenes. But also in the game, Pascal and the survivors moved into the abandoned factory instead. I wonder if they'll conclude Pascal plotline the same way as in the game, because there is more depression to be inflicted. Personally I don't think will cause 9s is fully locked in insanity speedrun. |

| Loved A2 and Pascal, still not liking 9S right now, but what in the hell of hells was that last scene with the pods??? Are they saying there are going to be even MORE delays? Sounds like the writers and animators are super pissed at their own company for whatever crap they are going through. |

| A2 and Pascal make a great team; unfortunately, the villages couldn't be protected. I didn't expect almost everyone to die, and it hurt to see the sisters and the soldier from the castle killed. At least the children are safe. A2 in her berserker mode was incredible, and Pascal was definitely the MVP. On the other hand, 9S is at his lowest point. He's still mourning 2B, and to make things worse, the YoRHa androids and the machines have the same core, making this entire fight seem pointless. Nooo, how could this be the last post-credits scene? It was the only thing that gave me some comfort after each disaster that happened. |

| A bit of deviation of the game, but not bad. I was a bit concerned we would miss Pascal's Goliath form since he evacuated to the resistance camp and not the abandoned fabric, which was a really hype moment controlling him directly to protect the children and then taking the Goliath for a 1v1. Dunno why they are ommiting that the machines that were both attacking the village and are basically in a cannibal murder spree. 9S suffering continues, which is basically his entire walkthrough in route C so we know we are here for this and more. He stabbing 2B was neatly done, he really wanted to **** her like Adam said and it shows. One control unit left and time to check which ending they will choose. |

| As a Nier game enjoyer this episode was full of pain. ΰ²₯_ΰ²₯ I absolutely love the new content added to the story. It just makes me love these characters more and more. The fan service this episode was asS tier. The fact that they removed the joke endings it's a bad omen for the rest of the episodes. |

| Everyone at the village were able to win their battle against the enemy lifeforms, but such is the way this series goes, happy and successful times are tough to earn and are very short lived, as it proved to be here as another hoard of enemies in the sky dropped the VERY annoying bomb lifeforms and destroyed the village along with most of its residents. =( A2 and Pascal had it hard, but both of them battled like champs to me. A2 activating her berserker mode was awesome and she did hold her own against a Goliath-class enemy, but she wasn't strong enough to take it down. That's where Pascal came in to help by attaching himself to another Goliath-class unit and drop-kicking the enemy before flexing his "muscles" like the MVP that he is. As for 9S, his trip down the mindbreak lane continues at a worrying pace. Not only was it hard for him to accept that the machine lifeforms and the YoRHa having the same core, but him getting reversed hacked only led him to have a meltdown in such a bloody gruesome manner before destroying the core at the second sub-unit. I won't deny that I'll miss the post-credit puppet segments, but in this late stage of the story, it's probably for the best that all of the duration will be focused on the story itself. |
| Another banger episode. I seem to be one of the few people that did not vibe with A2 in the game but the extra context the show has dedicated to her does sway me a bit. She is deep in her redemption arc from murdering machine babies and I can get behind that. While on the other hand 9s is deep in his nihilistic psychotic breakdown stage where he sees nearly everything as an enemy which is tough to watch. A lot of anime original stuff and plenty of fanservice. Loved every second of it and would like to see more. I was initially sad about the missing puppet theatre but as someone else in this thread aptly put: more screentime for the actual episode. The fact that the Yorha blackboxes are repurposed machine cores still puzzles me a little. Or better put, I didn't quite "get" how it would be a big deal? We're all humans and we still kill each other over minor differences so why would it matter that yorha androids are glorified machines made to fight their "ancestors"? Is it because it shakes to foundation of the perceived supperiority of the androids? Or that they are brainwashed to kill "their own kind"? |

| In the end they couldn't protect the village, Pascal and A2 did their best but against such big numbers and skybombing what could they do. 9s has completely lost it, someone end his misery. |

| Pascal being the best ojisan there is. That was an awesome entrance in the same goliath class unit. They'll somehow make it, but yeah, I'm not sure about 9S.. and this being the third instance on the trot in the same number of episodes. |
