This is what cheerleading is about...supporting teams.

Anna's got that request to support a baseball team so that's what they're for. Regardless, I think this episode had energy and united everyone to fight for what they believe in. Didn't really care about the game itself but we got a lot of spirit this episode.

The obligatory baseball episode, lol.

This time we got to see a lot of cheerleading. Everyone did their very best. Good job, girls!

Easily the best episode this season. Wish the series could've been like this one from the start. It felt like in episode 6 where they decided they wanted to take requests from people, should've been something that happened in like episode 2 or 3, and they could've just made the show episodic about them taking requests. I think that would've been way better.

After all the lesbian teasing last week we get nothing this week, cringe. Nah but this was fun too. The girls’ first cheer gig went really well.

In a sense this is really what the series is supposed to be about but we got all that character development and backstory during the first half of the season which I’m ok with. It makes battles like today that much more impactful. The baseball game might’ve been what people showed up for, but the girls stole the show. The rivalry between Rara and Ichigo was good and the few cheers we saw were nice too.

Loved seeing everyone come together and cheer Rara on there at the end too. As usual this show improved my day and I can’t wait for next week’s ep

Well they needed to flesh the cast out which is what they did in the first half of the show

Technically, this was an obligatory baseball episode, but the cheerleaders were the unsung heroes that helped to inspire the teams they support into doing their very best.

PomPoms were there to help out Rara and her squad to help cheer for her school's baseball team, who has had a poor run against their opponents, cheered on by the same cheerleading team Kanata was with, led by Ichigo. It did make for an exciting episode where both sides were cheering at their best as well as showing their fanciest moves to inspire the baseball teams.

Sadly, it wasn't enough for Rara's side to win, although going down fighting to the bitter end is a better result than a one-sided thrashing. This episode did get some good laughs from me, with Kanata getting caught and tied up with lots of rope and Nodoka cringing hard at Rara's solo cheer for Nodoka herself being the funniest parts for me. XD

I really like this show, it is visually beautiful, likable and great fun. Where it suffers is it's a bit all over the place in terms of narrative, there is no clear goal pompoms are pursuing it's just basically having a laugh. I suppose this is where ln or manga adaptions have the advantage of a specific vision for the work developed by the author.
Anyway I enjoyed this episode a lot, as usual but I worry when the season ends it will be quickly forgotten, which is a shame.
7/10.

Finally, an episode that focuses on the true power of cheerleaders in boosting morale, and the best way to demonstrate this is in a cheerleading battle during a baseball game.

The production continues to include short segments with the voice actresses. In these segments, they explore some of the locations in which the series takes place and must take on the challenge of adopting the same pose as one of the characters in a location that they have to find based on the image provided to them.

Finally, we get to that part of sports cheering. Too bad, we don't know the players being cheered on.

Well, the CGI dance is back...

But without that, the episode was actually quite better than the usual. The whole setting for this episode was actually interesting and felt real. We got to see a bit more of the school's rivalry that was never thouched on before, but kind of hinted by the fact that Nodoka and Anna were from a different school.

Also, I really liked Nodoka's character this episode, it felt like a genuine person and with issues about cheering that I think most of us have thought about, not only that we also got to know more about her past too. It just felt actually nice to get to know her better, and have a person from the group that actually has a different perspective. Also, Nodoka was the most plain character so far, but now I think she's one of the most interesting.
On the other hand, Kanata... She's just plain, they didn't have anything to go for her, even when she's facing the cheer team she wanted to be in, from her own school, that was just a poor choice on their part, and they said last episode that she wasn't over her condition, but still have yet to show that ever since episode 3. Kanata is just becoming the most boring character out of the group, without much going on for her, and she's the main one, so that's not really good.

Anyways, I wasn't expecting the team to lose actually, since it would be the 2nd time the PomPoms can't actually make a difference in the final outcome (like they weren't able to bring traction to Anna's friend shop). But it helped Nodoka finding that she actually enjoys cheering!
This episode was for sure one of the best episodes so far, the only big downsides are the lack of any Kanata development and the weird looking CGI they are doing for the cheerleading dances.

The cheerleading girls have nothing to do, though Nodoka just wants to rest in peace for being everyone's problem solver.

A client of the Omaebashi High School, the Cheer Committee's Banka Rara, wants the girls for extra motivation against a strong opponent for the baseball team, and a stylish one at that, it's a tall order for an important match. Not to mention, this is Takanosaki High School a.k.a Takataka they're against, and it's also the cheerleading girls facing them at the same time...only except that Nodoka isn't quite in the cheer committee in that regard, for someone who's wanted to avoid the pressure that comes with being appointed for the role, much less being the source for everyone to go to.

For an important baseball match where cheerleading also takes centerstage, it's rivals facing against one another once again, and the cheerleading rivalry definitely helps amp the spirit
and perseverance of the game. Despite Banka knowing that they're at a disadvantage, nothing is set in stone until the match is over, and her bit helps both PoMPoMs and the baseball team give it their all, ultimately losing.

A valiant effort, though Banka's cheer to Nodoka sure is embarrassing.

That honestly looked really silly.
Isn't sports cheerleading supposed to be working the crowd? Here the cheerleaders are just getting carried away by themselves without any regard for the game while the students watching sit mute and still completely disinterested about it all lol.

@Lanz Exactly. It's like they're not actually cheering on with the supporters. This show has barely any actual cheerleading, and it's a major disappointment IMO.

"Go, go, Ohtani", well the cheering definitely derailed there, lol.

It's been non-stop discussions but finally some substance here, glad to see the girls going out there and representing!
