idk, it could be a foreshadowing for something, not necessarily death but like her moving away or something, or it could really be just a reference to the movie

| It was a movie reference, well the ambience kinda made the mood. As for a foreshadowing aspect, it might be her thinking of either looking for a new job soon or thinking about the unpredictability of her future where she might transfer to a new location. College students do have career to think about. |
