| Why do the English subtitles constantly refer to copper pieces as gold? It makes the economy seem very broken. I suspected that something was off but it was confirmed in episode 5 when takami was teaching the children about money. Although he correctly identified the copper pieces as copper, the same currency was later referred to as gold when they were shopping. |
| It's still odd, considering that they clearly have copper and silver coins, and named them as such. I wouldn't say that a 25 cent item was 25 dollars. That would be idiotic. I understand, though. You're saying that the world's currency is also called gold, even though the material in this case is copper. |

That aside, it amuses me that the twins and beasts all decide to call him oniisan (big brother) while the subs use an abbreviation of his name, Taku. You can clearly hear ‘oniisan’ every time!
| @FutoiOtaku This is crunchyroll being trash. Ever since they lost competition (from fansubs, not funimation, funimation was equally trash) they make low effort subs like these. Why bother writing down what is told when you can just copy paste the first name without honorifics after all.. |

| The way I understood it was "gold" functions like dollar and so saying something is 35 gold then tells you how much copper or silver to use like smaller US coins can equal a dollar |
| funnily it's the opposite. the copper one is mistranslation, he said gold here just like the others said, I assume gold is the currency  |
