| I mean, the new VA is great but I liked how snarky the old VA was. I know he got removed for ... reasons, I guess.. but the snarky ness when hes like "oh, you thought killing me would kill me?" sounds less funny from the same VA as goblin slayer lol. |

| When I heard the VA change I almost didn't even pick up the series I mean, the old VA cheated on LiSA with some 20 something, but.. really? Not like he killed someone, and he's still getting casted in new stuff lol. Absolutely ridiculous. |

| It seems that a lot of people don't remember how serious the scandal was. First of all, in July of 2021 it was reported that Tatsuhisa Suzuki (Anos' original VA) cheated on LiSA, one of the biggest names in Japanese music. She has a massive fandom, both in numbers and influence, and they were all clamoring for Suzuki's banishment from the entertainment industry, basically. The scandal caused LiSA and Suzuki to suspend all activities and performances, which only added fuel to the fire of rage for both the fans and corporate executives. In mid August of that year, it was reported that Suzuki tried to take his own life, but failed and was hospitalized. He was banned from every Aniplex production soon after that, and other companies fired him too. By late 2021, both "Maou Gakuin no Futekigousha" and "Tokyo Revengers" had to begin production for their new seasons, since they had to fulfill their planned schedules. Of course they were going to replace Suzuki in these conditions. They fired him months before the news went public. Yes, at the beginning of December 2021 LiSA and Suzuki got back together, but by that time it was too late to stop his firing from several major roles. The damage was done. |

| Last episode was the one when I finally got used to his new voice but I still miss the old one so much, it was so much more playful, sarcastic and arrogant, Umehara Yuuichirou has an incredible voice but his delivery here has been kinda monotonous. |

| Umehara Yuuichirou is a great seiyuu, for characters like Cautious Hero or Goblin Slayer, two of his major roles, he is simply perfect, but it's undeniable that Tatsuhisa Suzuki, a great seiyuu too, left an indelible mark in our minds with his great performance as Anos in the first season, and in my opinion he was better suited for the character, without discussing the value of the current seiyuu. I don't know if it is a sort of "imprinting effect" and the original seiyuu seems always better than the replacements even if they are better on paper, but I don't think this is the case, we can simply make a comparison and in my opinion Tatsuhisa Suzuki was better suited for the character. a side note regarding the affair involving Tatsuhisa Suzuki, I am very sorry that he even went so far as to try to take his own life and that such a hurricane hit him over issues that ultimately concern his private life and his relationship with his his current wife, it is true that for Japanese culture public figures must set an example and maintain irreproachable conduct and I am not saying that a certain social pressure to maintain a certain order and decorum even in one's private life is wrong in itself, because this it reflects on society, but sometimes certain situations that ultimately concern people's private sphere are also too inflated and difficult to understand, at least from an external point of view. |
