| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- My experience with this manga was an odd one. When I was young I read manga physically, picking up the newly released volumes at a local comic book store. But this was the first series I have ever read to completion through physical release. What this meant was that the months of drought made me read this series in huge gaps and constantly forget much of the events. Nonetheless, for a series about going through such a messy time in one's life, it felt fitting for my own situation in a way. For this final volume, it was strong. The structure of the incredibly uncomfortable moment of all the tensions and secrets bursting out miserably before finally and desperately trying to understand each other openly was effective. I used the word desperately because: "Sugawara-shi is desperately trying to see how I feel. Somehow.. that's enough. " broke me, in a good way!!! Beautiful stuff. In a vacuum, this final volume, even if I lack a coherent holistic understanding of the work, made me want to be vulnerable. It played on my own feelings of missing out, and made me want to mutually understand others and find common ground with others no matter how painful it would be. And that's pretty cool. Maybe I'll reread this series properly one day. |

| I finally finished this and honestly, I regret picking up the physical versions of this manga. The last volume left me feeling empty because all of the character development happened all at once and wasn't a gradual transition throughout the series. IDK I loved the first four volumes a lot, but Niina and Izumi left a bad impression at the end. I was never expecting a happy ending for all of them, but I think this manga could've done better with a few more volumes and develop Izumi and Kazusa's relationship, get Niina the help she needs, and Momoko finding someone who'll accept her. The only thing I know about Momoko is that she's a closeted lesbian who tried to play the middleman between Niina and Kazusa. Oh well. |
| I was a sports kind of guy and had childhood far away from the hustling and bustling of city life.Graduating from adolescence came rather naturally.So looking at that theme from a different perspective moreso from a female perspective came off as fresh.The story of all the girls drenched in the brilliant colour of blue fumbling through new ideas which kept popping in their heads was spectacular to read.From making euphemisms of sex (es2cross lmao) to holding their club advisor hostage ,revolting against the archaic rules of the school made me howl much like the hot and cold Sonezaki (favourite of the lot btw) who had her world view toggle between black and white.Speaking of her i loved the Gyaru and how she was the catalyst behind Sonezaki's dissonance .And at the end when Sonezaki had a big beaming smile looking at the cute picture of the Gyaru's child highlighting she made her truce. Only thing which i would prefer Mari sensei did better was closure to Nina's plight.Girl was still stuck in her mental cage. Anyway it is definitely worth a read. 9/10 |
| Damn that was a chaotic read. I felt like the manga got across a lot of the confusion and strength of the feelings people have at this age but I feel like it all happened way too fast. It just felt like characters moved from one situation to the next without a breather, making this hard to get attached to. Still, I enjoyed seeing things from a different perspective. |
