Go! Go! Loser Ranger!
| I'll keep this brief. While I have just caught up with the show, I just wanted to say I like it overall but not crazy about unlike others. Why is that? Well there are two problems I have with it. The first problem is that while Fighter D is funny and engaging main character....he's a jobber. Like he may get better later on but this dude has a horseshoe up his ass and legit pretty much blew his cover within two episodes to a point this new life as "Hibiki" won't go well for him if you ask me as dude isn't good at keeping cover. I also felt he was pretty easily manipulated by Suzurkiri. So I feel as much fun as he is....dude is not going to be beating anyone soon without the plot going, "Oh wait you can't lose yet." (Bonus problem: I can't be the only one that feel Suzukiri gives off I'm evil vibes from the start it's so obvious, right?) The next issue I have is that I feel display how the show wants to make the Dragon Keepers come off as assholes....the monsters aren't much better. So if you are trying to sell me a monster is wanting to change the ethics of his arch enemy...good luck with that as it is clear D wants power and to take over the world. I don't think he'll get it but this is like trying to convince me Rita Replusa is misunderstood and the rangers were the real bad guys. Sorry....I just dated myself with that reference. Either way, I just feel trying to sell me the monsters as the good guys her is going to be a tough sell. |

For the second part, I don't really feel like they are trying to sell D as a good guy in any way. The story is just about escaping the keepers endless cycle.
As for the first, I agree it could easily get dumb really quick as far as D winning fights, but if that's a problem for you, I think you are just taking the show too seriously.

| @Joebohobo147 I mean if it keeps up by like the second our then I may dip out but I would like to see a character win fights because they were better not because their opponent decided to slip on a banana peel and tear their ACL. Yeah that could be the story like others pointed out and if it is I respect it more for doing that. I just feel with some of the framing and how they have had the Keepers act I'm like, "Guys stop it. The monsters aren't much better." |

Yea, the show is just starting. But as a manga reader, it was really frustrating to read that shit. Most annoying shōnen manga I have come across this year. D is just...ugh. Anyways, if you're on the anime, you're in for some HUGE surprises.

Yea, the show is just starting. But as a manga reader, it was really frustrating to read that shit. Most annoying shōnen manga I have come across this year. D is just...ugh. Anyways, if you're on the anime, you're in for some HUGE surprises.

Also, while they portray the rangers as bad, they're not trying to justify D's actions cause at the end of the day he's an invader who's goal is world domination

Uh ye his entire race of fighters are jobbers. He’s gonna have to try extra hard to get anywhere close to the rangers level. That is what the series is about.
I mean it’s not trying to portray them as good. The fighters ARE evil and did try to take over the world.the story is all about giving the villains the win for once and take over the world not to prove that their good people.
Also, he isn’t trying to change their ethics. Episode 4 made it blatantly obvious that he just wants to kill them. The religious guy he traded lives with was the one that wants to change their ethics

| @Streetplosion That could change but yeah I do get you. I think my issue is the framing device as they are trying hard to make the Keepers seem like shitty people and I'm like, "Uh...they're kind of not but okay anime." Granted I don't think D's group will get a win since the real big bad is legit going to be the one to take that win. |

For me, I feel like this anime just lacks impact. It pulls out all the stops except for moments of impact. I think it might be that the sound design is kinda weak, but it could also just be that the pacing always feels rushed, like GO GO GO! There’s not much time to breathe.

| The plot surpriselly is more interesting than i thought at 1st moment, but the issue is: - Everybody are assholes D is stupid, and every attempt of devenlopment of his character ends in "i'm stubborn like a shonen MC, i will defeat Dragon Keepers with no plan but plot armor". The blonde girl is annoying. XX is even more stupid and onedimensional. Red Keeper is the plain psycho Homelander the show demands, no surprises here. Pink Keeper could have some layers, but dont, is just another plain character with mental issues The white rangers are the closest of likeable characters, but they are more annoying in the end, also, expendables. The original Hibiki could be the best one (in a low level), but almost no screentime for him lol I could finish this season for pure curiosity about the plot, like wtf really happened, what are the leaders and keepers etc. |
