Fan studio Arche has decided to create a sequel to Berserk 1997 (post Eclipse). They quite faithfully recreated artstyle from original anime.
7-8 episodes are planned, but air date isn't known. Second episode may be aired in 2-3 months. First episode has been animated literally by one person.

This episode, oh man..... It's so sad. Literally every encounter with Guts ends up in a bad way for other NPCs........ amazing!!

@Alphchan This is a fan project and 1st episode's been animated by one person. Still better than Berserk 2016. Can't expect exceptionally high quality from non-profit production.

I partly agree. Prison School is insanely funny and over the top, but Gintama takes the cake for me for the funniest shit. Both of them made me laugh until I had stomach aches and perfectly hit my humour.

@18927 different visions are fine, but usually we don't see that, just duplicate adaptations of the same chapters.

Do we really need different visions of same chapters? Better to adapt unadapted chapters. I'd like to see some adaptations of recent content, not just the Black Swordsman arc.

The goal should be for Berserk fans to be able to continue the story after the anime, in a format other than the manga, that enhances or adapts the manga in some way. Once we've done that--a tall order!--then we can do different visions.

Like you said, lack of coordination and vision is the issue. Studio Taka, for example, have a diverse range of global contributors [1]. (They need more help, too.)

Though ultimately the IP holder is to blame. There's no good reason we don't have a full adaptation of Berserk [2], akin to One Piece. It doesn't have to be anime. They should hire Studio Taka and fund them so they can finish their adaptation in our lifetime. I would pre-order that instantly.

Imagine being able to tell people not "read the manga" but "watch the manga"! And they could package it with a digital download of the manga, so people can read it if they want and enjoy the art.

Still, thanks for telling us about the new adaptation. There's so much fan-made Berserk content, it's easy to miss new stuff.

Just watched it. That was awesome (even though I've already seen this chapter animated before in the first episode of Berserk (2016)). They did a really good job. Very impressed. I really hope they're able to make and release more episodes. Would love to see the rest of the Black Swordsman arc animated by them. Would be a shame if the project had to stop. If TeamFourStar are able to make Dragon Ball Z Abridged and have it on YouTube (despite it using the same animation from the actual show), Studio Arche should be allowed to make and release their own anime adaptation of Berserk, even if it's not a parody like DBZ Abridged.

6 months later, still no episode 2 yet. It'd be stuff that has never been animated before, so I'm hoping to see it very soon.
