"We need to keep casualties down", Rose said, but I couldn't see a single dead soldier in this episode. Then there was that short scene where Rose looked towards the explosion from Usato's final attack and the demon fighter he foot was on made a comical expression. Was all that fighting just a joke? This so-called war between humans and demons felt like cosplayers doing their thing. Nobody actually dies. Even the evil black knight, supposedly responsible for countless deaths (probably not, though, lol) gets to life, because there's a cute girl inside the armor. Why again does this anime have a high MAL-rating of 7.46? That's ridiculous. Not a single person in this story takes things seriously, nothing makes sense. Fucking Boruto is more serious than this. I'm really upset right now about how bad this anime is and I'd hope that someone would warn me in the future when I'm about to start watching something like this. Why can't anime be good anymore? :/ Oh man, I feel bad for even making this comparison, but: Do people not remember fantasy-anime like "Visions of Escaflowne"? You were not paying attention to what was going on. I saw injured soldiers fighting and being carried back to base to get healed. There were many soldiers being healed at the base. A lot of the time was used to show the main fight scenes, which demonstrated that even the heroes were no match for the black knight’s power. It showed Usato save the heroes. The soldiers fought to buy him some time to gain some distance to heal the heroes. The Usato kicked ass, using Healing Magic in the wrong way. Also the show has shown people take things seriously, the King, the Captain, Rose, Kzuki, but with Usato as the main character, there are humorous, dramatic, and serious scenes. Well expect the Suzene she was just giddy about the whole situation the whole time. And people did die, all of Rose’s crew died, hence why they have the Healer’s group saving people on the battle field. Next time pay attention better. |

@MyllerPhiem I see that you are not too bright. I just proved your silly whining comment wrong, and you can’t handle it. But since you can’t come up with your own response, you just repeated mine to me. How pathetically lame and lazy. |

So, what do you mean by cosplaying in your terms, is it like they should be casualties in the war but actually there is none, or else? And one more thing, what is your definition of a good anime, is it because of good - animation - storyline - music - voice acting - direction - or other else? because there are so many factors that plays out to be a good anime, it is so subjective to evaluate a anime to be good due to our differences of how we view it. just appreciate the difference in it because no one can satisfy everyone. |

I find it kinda weird to complain that not much people are dying on screen, while MC is literally a healer and his job is to prevent that. Especially since there were actual valid reasons to complain about that episode, like for example battlefield looking like post apocalyptic wasteland for some reason instead of plains, or demon troops being the most generic looking army of clones imaginable. Anyway, I suspect we haven't seen people dying on screen is because Black Knight turned out to be a waifu and was taken alive, which most likely will result in her somehow switching sides. As such, we are still supposed to synpstise with her to some extent, wo author did not wanted her to be past Moral Event Horizon, which is why we haven't seen her causing deaths on the battlefield. |

Guys, you have me convinced. Flinging insults at me, projecting a whole lot, and just "wanting" something to be wrong. Ok. Yeah, some people died in a flashback. So you haven't paid attention to my OP at all. I asked where in this battle people died. And I'm not complaining that we did see too few dead. I'm complaining that we saw NONE at all. That's why I'm calling it cosplay - these characters are literally playing pretend-war. @Piromysl Yes, of course, that shit will happen. Can't kill a cute girl after all. This anime is shit. |

@MyllerPhiem The entire point of the rescue squad is to not let people die. Everytime someone's gets injured they swipe in and take them back to base camp for healing and then they resume to fight back, You must have seen that in previous episodes too and would be easy to understand if you paid attention. We have been shown people getting injured a lot of times too and a few killings here and there, Didn't you see the black night killing a entire squadron of Troops? You've also seen people on the brink of death being healed such as the Heroes No special scenes were shown of people dying because no important person has died in the war and they'd be wasting time to keep on showing random soldiers die Rose also said that the rescue squad should prioritize Healing those that could be healed and to leave this who could not be saved or didn't want to be, Hence Explaining why no scene is shown of the rescue squad with dying soldiers From what logical standpoint do you think the black knight should be killed? Usato doesn't want blood on his hands and it is already explained Why she didn't die by his punches Keeping the black knight alive is more favourable to them as she can be used as a bargaining chip or to gather intel about the next attack from the Demon army, If you worry about her being a threat to the country then you're forgetting Usato and Rose who literally are her Weakness Like I said before, The show isn't responsible for you not understanding simple things which is already laid out in plain so maybe try understanding a few things first before calling a show bad or shit from the get go |

@Kidzuna Rose said herself their job is "to keep casualties down". NOBODY died in this episode and I assume none of the people fighting the black knight last episode died either. Why the black knight should be killed? Because "he" is the evil leader who did all the crimes. Well, at this point no "crimes" have been committed, because everybody was just cosplaying. When someone rapes your gf, would you just forgive the perpetrator? Sorry, but the writing in this anime is so low-braincell shit that it's hard to believe people would defend it. |

The black knight isn't the leader lol, She was one of the general of the army, you've been shown the other two already in the episode You yourself said that Black knight should be killed because they killed countless people but you are still asking if there were any deaths? Do you know how dumb that sounds?(Her crimes include leading a war which led to the death of multiple people in both sides and ofc killing) Rose already said that the demon army will attack once again and they dint know much about the enemy and guess what? Information about the enemy is one of the most important things in a war and who do you think will be a better source of info about the demon army and their motives other than one of their generals? The benefit of her staying alive outweighs her being dead so there's no need to kill her "As of now". "I assume" yeah sure bro because you assume and the story works that way. You are not supposed to assume you are supposed to understand but you failed to do that and I already answered your questions Who were they even supposed to show dying? There were no important characters who died in this episode so why bother taking up screentime of random people we've never known which can cause problems for other scenes? I've already explained everything before in my reply but The purpose of the rescue team is to save those that can be saved so why would you be shown a random guy dying in between the episode from the rescue teams pov if the rescue team only focus on the ones who can be rescued If you wanna see people die so bad then go watch the episode where all of rose's previous comrades died or go watch jjk or Akame ga kill Also they covered more stuff about the battle in the light novel you can go read for yourself as it explains in more details what the harsh conditions Usato had seen during the war and remember that there's always so much that can be adapted in 1 episode |

The last episodes with the “War” against the Demons was like a Theater performance from 12 year olds. I expected a 500 vs 500 fight but not this. We just saw a few persons being healed on the battlefield and the lame fight against the Black Knight (Completely cringe name btw xd). The one interesting thing about the anime is that they use healing magic differently than other Fantasy anime but that’s it. Unfortunately there is nothing special about this one, like 90% of the other Isekai simulcast anime. |

"Not enough death shown in this show focused on healing!" Even in war there are other aspects that people can choose to focus on M*A*S*H can be in a war setting about war without a cast member killing anyone. Someone died to the black knight in episode 10 (I think). but if they didn't, is it that bad? it's war, we don't see the whole scene, a d it's the first big battle. We've seen from Rose's flashback that people can die, but we want to give the audience and the protagonist a W for the first big battle. Plus, let's all understand that as we define our taste and expectations in anime, other do the same but find themselves looking for other aspects. It's not a wrong for you to not like this show, but to suggest all of anime has somehow fallen off from the days of Escaflowne is a bit much. This show has it's rating because that reflects how well it met or exceeded the expectations of those who watched it. It's not a perfect 10 because others agree with you that it's lacking in certain aspects they expected from it. The score doesn't need to match what you think it should have, just to reflect what most viewers felt. just take it with a grain of salt, but don't worry about it being higher or lower than it should be. it's distance from 10 roughly correlates to the chances that a new watcher will dislike it, but you can still personal fall anywhere in that spectrum. Especially, since a perfect 10 comedy won't mean much to a horror fan that hates comedy. It's better to not go into a comedy looking for a monster. SUMMARY since Honestly, this is the most important part: DON'T look at scores as a measure of the show's quality. RATHER look at them as the CHANCES you will like it, and know you can still fall into either group. Your rating based on how well it did the things you thought it would, will update that data for the future people. |

just take it with a grain of salt, but don't worry about it being higher or lower than it should be. it's distance from 10 roughly correlates to the chances that a new watcher will dislike it, but you can still personal fall anywhere in that spectrum. Especially, since a perfect 10 comedy won't mean much to a horror fan that hates comedy. It's better to not go into a comedy looking for a monster.
SUMMARY since Honestly, this is the most important part:
DON'T look at scores as a measure of the show's quality. RATHER look at them as the CHANCES you will like it, and know you can still fall into either group. Your rating based on how well it did the things you thought it would, will update that data for the future people.
Even in war there are other aspects that people can choose to focus on M*A*S*H can be in a war setting about war without a cast member killing anyone.
@LucenProject "Not enough death shown in this show focused on healing!" I know you haven't seen it, because it'd be too much for your oversensitive mind, but in "Hacksaw Ridge", Andrew Garfield goes to war, refusing to use any weapon, refusing to kill anyone, only as a medic. We see him go on the battlefield, risk his life, and rescue dozens of injured soldiers. Imagine if in that movie NOBODY died. A WAR movie. That is what you're doing. You're defending a war-anime where nobody dies, outside of flashbacks (which is bs writing that too many anime do. Put all the serious stuff in flashbacks, have nothing serious happen in the present, sigh). You are wrong. |
If you haven't watched "Fantastic Children", don't talk about "best anime". Thank you. |

Is no one going to mention that the OP doesn't understand the difference between casualties and fatalities?
@LostSpectre I used the word used in the anime. Nice try. |

You mean the portrayal in animated fiction of another world that has magic, show be similar to that based on REAL LIFE events in our world? And there is a different from the story-teller choosing to highlight the deaths and injuries and there not being any. An anime with a war in it is different from a war-anime with a military context. 86 and Gate are not the same as everything else with a war. Nor should they be. Read what I said. it's not wrong for you to dislike it if it failed to meet your expectations, but you also would benefit from bringing the right expectations to an anime and taking a different view on the score of a show. |

@MyllerPhiem If you saw Hacksaw Ridge and liked it, you saw Doss not kill and, in fact, try to help even injured enemy combatants. Why are you upset that MC didn't kill the black knight? |

@LucenProject I'm not? I'm upset that nobody else kill her. |

Oh. I don't know. I'm not hugely into military or military shows, but if I had a high level enemy combatant that had ostensibly been stripped of being a threat, I'd opt to capture rather than kill. Interrogating for information, trying to turn them, ussing them for trades, are just quick benefits that come to my mind that are instantly lost if I end them immediately because they killed others. Unless killing them brings back people they killed in the last X amount of time in this world. If that's the case, I see merit in killing sooner rather than reaping andly of the other potential benefits, but I hadn't seen anything like that so far. |

@LucenProject Ok, then let's do this. What I expect to happen, though: She'll be treated way too friendly, will be allowed to walk around instead of staying in a prison, and before the end of next episode, she'll be fighting on our heroes' side. :/ |

In time she'll probably switch sides. For many the best way to get rid of an enemy is to turn them into a friend. Anime has been doing it since before Vegeta. I think the realism you're looking for is a valid thing to want. If someone says their going to make an anime homage to Saving Private Ryan but show no death, it deserves all the poor reviews it gets. I also think things that aren't trying to be that realistic, shouldn't get viewed as bad for not being it. |

MyllerPhiem said: Nobody actually dies. Even the evil black knight, supposedly responsible for countless deaths (probably not, though, lol) gets to life, because there's a cute girl inside the armor. We need the protagonist from Redo of Healer (The Truly Wrong Way To Use Healing Magic) to right the wrongs! Only he has the balls (pun intended) to set a cute girl on the right path. I agree that, at least enemies, are too lenient - they seem to be well aware that their opponent can heal their soldiers so it would make sense for them to immediately make sure their enemies are indeed killed. But it's a lighthearted anime that is closer to comedy than realism. To me, it's pretty clearly communicated that anime isn't planning to show dark themes and Rose's reminiscence episode is an exception and not the rule. And for the 7.46 - it's kind of the standard medium-quality isekai trash series. It probably doesn't deserve an opinion this high but it seems this is what people want to watch. One way to tell anime like this apart from a higher quality one is to look at age rating and the saturation of colours - if it's PG-13 with a colour palette similar to this one then it's likely it won't contain mature themes and if it tries it will be quite shallow at that. As for this season, maybe anime like Ishura will be more up your valley - I think it's a more realistic depiction of what would happen if overpowered people from other world would get summoned. While it has lower score than this one, I think it has higher production value. |

MyllerPhiem said: "We need to keep casualties down", Rose said, but I couldn't see a single dead soldier in this episode. How did we go from such masterpiece quality to ... this? Thanks Obama, Fuck Trump, or Putler? Man, anime used to be so good ... Concept of anime was new and good ' wrong way of using healing magic ' that attracted me started good too but now it proved to be a disappointment could have done better. |

MyllerPhiem said: Guys, you have me convinced. This anime is shit. give up friend they ain't gonna accept |

At the start of the battle, the giant white snake killed someone in its mouth. Moments after, it body-smashed another person to his death. Later, Usato-kun entered the battlefield and ran past dead bodies. Usato-kun wasn't paying attention and tripped over a corpse. A demon attacked him but Usato-kun was saved by a knight he healed earlier. Two corpses on screen. The one that he tripped over and the other one that got killed by the knight. People died so you're clearly wrong about that. |

Zero dead people in the episode I talked about. And at this point I'd doubt that any of the people in your screenshots were actually dead. Just injured. |

So, yeah. As I predicted, Black Knight is a cute girl, that will join the good guys, so we can't have her being irredeemably evil, which is why we haven't seen her killing anyone on and off screen. That's the answer you were looking for. |
