I wasn't expecting anything good from this one, but it actually was a nice watch.
Nothing great, but still enjoyable, quick, and different.
I liked the western setting, not to mention that girls & guns is always a winning combo.

It wasn't a masterpiece, but it certainly wasn't horrible. I would't mind if it was more than one episode long.

Pure mediocrity which is why I'm guessing that it was only one episode. It's not worth watching but it isn't painfully bad.

Lack of research here ruins the background of the story. They decided to use the "soldier with nowhere to go" cliche (which I think might originally have been used for post-Meiji Revolution samurai) but that doesn't make sense here. We're told he gained some renown in the Civil War which historically was a very easy ticket into an elected office. He probably wouldn't find it hard to keep his office for ages and could sell favors to make himself rich, a lot which was going on in the decades after the Civil War.

Not bad for an OVA,

It's refreshing to see a girls and guns with a wild west setting compared to today's anime.

it was pretty decent. The sound quality though was pretty poor and the main chick sure got over killing pretty fast. I also saw that twist coming.

As a lover of the 1800s setting, and as a massive fan of girls with guns (not to mention girls with eyepatches. I had lots of fun, and that ending was a nice twist

Wild, wild West!
Girls with guns!

Such a shame that this one's got a low score. This OVA isn't all that bad. In fact, it was pretty enjoyable. I was also not expecting that plot twist at the end too. Kind of a mediocre plot twist, but I still didn't see that one coming. xD

I would have wanted to see more of this, though. It was actually really good! :)

I kind of liked this, but there are some weird inconsistencies.

- The OVA varies between characters with like near-superhuman levels of agility and fairly realistic depictions. The former made it feel totally inconsistent.

- English dub script is weird sometimes. The colonel, for example, mentions how they have to protect the civilians traveling with them, but he really means that he doesn't want to risk civilian (the women's) lives on protecting the cache of weapons.

- The English dub accents are something

- The plot twist makes no sense. Historically, and this is a period piece of sorts, he would have been fine. Also, why would he help them use the gatling gun if he didn't want them to succeed? Why not set them up to fail and blame it on "experimental tech" or something?

- The colors were inconsistent between characters and backgrounds. Characters were bright and bold and kind of garish. Backgrounds looked like I expected.

It really wasn't bad, but I really wish it was a bit better produced.

Also, it's interesting to watch this now and remember how this incorporation of 3D graphics into 2D animation was considered groundbreaking at the time.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
