there is a lot of source material but the introduction of a character of fuugan Haan changes the series although I'm still read it the series as dropped in enjoyment for me

@suiii69 basically for about four volumes the story revolves fuugan Haan with one volume only have souma the main character in the last chapter that maybe three pages

I liked how a realist hero rebuilt the kingdom because souma a brain not brawn character he not op in any other way that his intelligence but fuugan an op God of war in human flesh. I like op god like mc my favorite are satou from death March to the parallel world rhapsody and touya from in Another World with my smartphone so for the author to switch focus to this new character was jarring and ruin what made the series special to me it still a good read and volume 17 seems so far to be refocusing on souma so maybe I get the same enjoyment out of the series like I did before Haan introduction

@Moppit I get that the author was building up Haan as a rival but four volumes that a lot. The way I saw it the author was wishing he made souma a Frontline fighter not a field marshal one of this short/ side story that an alternative time-line where souma take the mechadragon to battle the amidonia at altomura

the reason they focus on Haan tho is because he is the next threat to Fredonia. and is showing his rise to power, would be awkward and confusing if a op enemy just popped out of nowhere and started starting for Soma.

I for one look forward to see how the hero overcomes the devouring tiger that is Haan.
whose side will the sister take?
will Haan unite with the kingdom and empire?
will the kingdom gain deamon allies and defeat Haan?
will the war become a 3 fractions, instead of just human vs deamon?

I don't like Haan much either but I do enjoy the build up of the next threat lumming over the kingdom
