We got quite a few new scenes regarding public perception of the child emperor. I think this is anime original since I can't remember reading something like this in the novels.

The good ol' question popped up in this episode. Do you prefer a corrupt democracy or a clean dictatorship?

Julian's been ordered to head to Phezzan

i liked those scenes of the different ways to people reacting to a war that is slowly creeping on them, some really have no idea that they are about to be attacked in a way that the Empire has never done before
Trunith really is hoping to become an authoritarian an the current state of democracy is so frustrating even Yang is starting to think about becoming a dictator, meanwhile the emperor is reduced to a puppet

I thought of something like completely random. Didn't Reinhard say he wanted to or something about being the strongest in the UNIVERSE? I cannot imagine there not being an alien species 1000x or more stronger than them out there or something. would love to see something like that.

Here's the point where the FPA decides its future fate. I have to say the new series does a good job in putting the issues at hand in context.

I really enjoyed this episode. The dialogue was so interesting and Yang’s reaction to Julian’s new orders showed even he can be pushed too far. Can’t wait to see what happens next.

The Free Planets Alliance is crumbling before our very eyes. Trunicht has sunken the ship by accepting the child emperor into their domain. The public is about as split as it can be on the matter. Some want to send the kid back while others want to shelter him for the sake of democracy or whatever. Its so sad to see people wanting to sacrifice military service members over a little kid. I don't care what any of those people say that is not the military's job. Their job is to protect the people of the Free Planets Alliance, not some bratty kid.

The fact that the members of the so called Legitimate Empire Government are only using the kid as a political tool they can bargain with and explore says it all. They really don't care about anyone but themselves. They even have to drug the kid so he's not a brat whenever dignitaries come visit him. That tells you everything you need to know about these guys.

Its despicable to see the leaders of the Alliance succumb to horrible manipulation or even be complacent in just so they can hold onto power. Yang should've followed Schönkopf advice and taken over the Alliance already. Yang would be a good dictator, he could match Reinhard in his ways of uplifting the populace. Now Yang has to send Julian away to Fezzan of all places because these corrupt military leaders are being appointed by corrupt politicians and have no idea what they're doing.

The Free Planets Alliance continues to crumble as public opinion is split on what to do with the young emperor. Meanwhile the politicians are trying to save themselves by holding on to whatever power they still have. Now Julian is being shipped to Fezzan for no apparent reason and I have a bad feeling that he's going to get caught in the crossfire once the Galactic Empire starts making their way towards Fezzan.

I loved the episode, it flew by. The scenes of people's opinions were a great addition in my opinion.

So Julian is finally leaving for Fezzan... I hope we'll get those history tapes soon!

OVA 40 was an anime original episode based on the info said at the start of volume 1 of the novels.

DNT only has 6 episodes to adapt the remaining 5 chapters to adapt before S4 ends, which corresponds to OVA 39-44 (6 episodes, 5 excluding episode 40). Given the pacing, I think including OVA 40 into DNT would make things go too fast. So unless they make that episode as an OVA included in the DVDs, then we won't be seeing it here in the remake.

^My reasoning as to why we won't see that history episode

Ooohhh I see, I didn't know ep.40 was an anime original.
And yeah, given the amount of eps left it makes more sense not to get that episode. That's unfortunate, I love the "history porn" episodes a lot!

The biggest difference between a corrupt democracy and pristine dictatorship is that the former is no longer a democracy while the latter remains essentially what it is.

OMG, watching this episode in subtitle is a NIGHTMARE, what a drag with all the infodump.  Shame that there is no news of an English dub as of January 30, 2023 for this season 4 Intrigue. Watching a simple 20 minutes episode felt like an hour. The English dub is probably taking longer than usual (unless it got canceled) because even for them watching one episode takes forever.

Sometimes I wonder how in the world anyone watched the original LOGH 110 episodes with subtitles, cause goodness.

Anywho, interesting stuff in the beginning of this episode, with the people being anxious with the possible of the war now getting worse and getting drafted.

And the talk with Yang being too popular that he himself might become a dictator and destroy the Alliance Planets democracy was interesting, and truly a fear to watch out.

And hopefully Julian gets eliminated in his new role; I find him so annoying for some reason.

I really love seeing the reactions of the public about the kid. They’re divided and all parties bring up good points.

There's no reason for them to be concerned about Yang becoming a dictator; that's the last thing he'll do. I'm delighted that one politician saw Yang for who he is and realized right away that he has no desire to become a dictator.

We got insight on the situation of the people of alliance and also on Yang. Sucks fot Julian, he gotta leave. Yang actually considered being a dictator for a sec there.
