Tbh, a lot of events have built up towards this episode as the main cast enters a bizarre battlefield in attempts to advance their ranks.

This was no joke though, as every team faced against unpredictable dangerrs. Episode featured a variety of magic spells but I was expecting more from Desir and his team.

Both Pram and Romantica have grown a lot. They handled their fight really well even without Desir. Good to see Romantica has come to like her teammates.

Not a massive fan of this arc, the reasons for it seem shallow, was hoping for more op magic use. But its just one class hating the other.

Pram really did improve but things are left half finished. new target: the bell tower. Ratts were creepy but Pram managed to save the day despite his fear of rats. It felt half-baked but was an okay episode.

Aww romantica is such a cute little tsundere lmao. Desir giving her headpats was adorable. Both she and Pram have grown a lot and it was nice to see her acknowledge her love for her comrades.

The group has come a long way but still clearly has a long way to go. The struggle against the magical beasts was a wake up call and a reminder that they aren’t quite major leagues yet. The other classes were able to take out the beasts quite easily, but it took some ingenuity from pram to save our group. I know desir wants to get back to that point in time he left and save his people, but no need to rush.

Overall, decent episode. Didn’t feel like too much happened other than the headpats and beast fight. Looking forward to the end of this arc ngl

First half of the episode was awesome with Pram & Romantica confidently taking on some alpha class students and kicking their asses.
I loved it when Romantica say take that "Alpha-kun" BAM

But then- the bell tolls for thee

The clock tower creates a storm (how? dunno) then a dumb computer voice announces the clock tower generates "monsters at regular intervals" (how? dunno)
And the monster it generates is a bunch of rats. And then things definitely went downhill. The whole cgi rat thing was dumb, the clock tower is corny, but at least the other teams are starting to get repeat scenes so they can start to get some characterization rather than just be fodder. Still no real progress with the plot regarding Azest and joining Desir's Dream Team.

Desperately trying to keep interest in this one. I guess it's a valid episode with Pram as the subject with his awesome moves, but in this case I think things would flow better if it was like, three episodes long, as this single ep is kinda empty.

Both Pram and Romantica coming across Alpha students, and they're not fazed by attacking them at precise moments...though Desir has been there watching both Pram and Romantica from a distance to see how much they improved. Back to the main topic, to get promoted to Alpha class by either clearing the Shadow World or be in the Top 9, it'd be easier to let the stronger students fight against each other, and they don't neven need to do a thing to get a free pass.

As the bells ring, the Privius Clock Tower that summons monsters at intervals, this turns into a Survival Quest, and Desir scouts the lands...to find CGI demonic rats that demand running away from the pack, much worse than both Pram and Romantica's fear of rats. Despite them trying to fight it, the pack is rather enormous, and Pram wants to fight the commander hidden within the pack, and the vortex surrounding it that has Desir worried, he not need worry about Pram as he mamaged to defeat the Kildra mouse boss, finishing the Survival Quest. And as much as Desir is frustrated at himself, they head next to the clock tower.

Survival is the contempt of Desir, for that determines the future of his party.

Some nice showdown by Pram and Romantica. They really are up to par with anyone else in this tournament.

I wonder how many more underestimating enemies will eat dirt? (this also includes the noble supremacists among the faculty members).

So Desir isn't actually that OP even in the past timeline... if he can't even defeat those rats... lol
Well, since they're in a virtual world iicrc, they wouldn't really die, but the simulation itself made Desir panic. His head is finally in the game!

It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

not a fan of Pram. I understand he's supposed to be the comic relief character, but the way he behaves seems out of place multiple times in the series. like in this ep, why is he bunny hopping? Romantica is bearable, but Pram's goofy antics are just too extreme imo.

Good episode again, full of some awesome fighting scenes. Seems Desir's past knowledge was right, and the monsters that were created by the clock tower were a big swarm of rats.

Pram took down the swarm's leader, but also drained every last bit of energy he had. I guess that's what happens when a young kid fights.

Also should mention that the music was awesome, loved it.

I found this episode pretty good and interesting because of all the characterization it seems to be doing subtly. Pram's seeking approval from Desir because he's got a daddy complex and is seeing Desir as a substitute father figure; as such Pram goes and does something reckless as jumping into the rat swarm endangering himself, this triggers Desir's PTSD of remembering a dead Pram from his past timeline. That causes Desir to beat himself up over being too lax in his leadership, and he becomes a little more cold and distant. Romantica starts to reflect and figure out for herself that the noble's offer to join his party likely would have ended poorly when her commoner roots would have been discovered. She starts realizing that she would have never thought to try this approach to get into A Class, and that Desir is not as bad as she had first thought. She's starting to not care about the nobility status thing as much as she did before, and care more about her party.

Meanwhile the anime seems to be also doing subtle characterization of the antagonist nobles, pretty much every single one of them seems to be not a generic bad guy, while sort of looking bad guy-ish. Even the guy who feels hot, then takes a magic blast to the face feels like a character. Same with the guy who almost gets killed by a rat because he let his guard down, normally that be just some generic guy getting killed, but here he gets saved by his archer party member which of course they'll be doing. This anime doesn't seem to be treating the side and background characters as throw-aways, which is great IMO. I assume it's doing that because ultimately they're all on the same side vs the calamity in the first episode, so they're not going to vilify the antagonists too much; hence why the commoner hating noble had a good reason to hate commoners. I think they're going to become more important characters in the future, and this is the show cleverly fleshing them out subtly.

I like this, much better than seeing a big fight scene which has very little meaning to afterwards, or generic throw-away bad guys and an over-emphasis focus on the main characters like nobody else in the world matters. I just watched the Rising Shield Hero S3, and aside from the first couple of episodes that's what it sort of felt like much of the time, it was disappointing.

Last episode finished with Desir taking out the first person supposedly. 29 people. This episode opens with Romantica taking one down. 27 people remaining. If there are only 30 people in the whole thing then show each one being taken out, even if it is some random on random action.

108 people shown on the board. 4 rings with a max of 48 people passing through to the Shadow World. 30 people entered. 2 people beaten and were down to 27/30. I hate when shows do this trash.

Romantica and Pram are together all of a sudden and she shows off some cool sonar search ability to find 2 people and 1 hiding. She casts a wind arrow but her spell looked to be blown up right away so it showed to me that Desir was close by, which Romantica later confirms she knew from her spell being inverted. Pram and Romantica take down the two easily because they underestimated her but then right away forget there was a third person in hiding. Glad to see that Romantica recognizes what is happening and adjusts her strategy right away.

The clock now reads 11:40, so they have been at it for an hour and 40 minutes. The count is down to 18/30. At least this time they showed a time lapse and had dialogue about it. Desir's plan of holding out to just make it to the top 9 and let them battle each other sounds good, but how will that work with the points system? They said that the top 9 are determined by points. Does just sitting and not getting killed get you points? If say the 18th person out was to have taken out 7 people would they not rank above someone who only took out 1 or 2 people?

Romantica starts contemplating what would have happened if she decided to go with Blue Moon and Desir does his whole reassuring thing. The whole gang is now a lot closer and happy to be together. As they realize this the bells of the clock tower signal the start of the event they are supposed to be fixing. So now there are monsters being created when it chimes and it is no longer just party on party. Everyone seems to think it is no big deal. The most of them don't have much to worry about because of course the committee have to have rigged it against Beta group, right? Doesn't look like it. You would think that they would have done something to make it near impossible for Beta Team...

1 random person is eliminated (17/30) and Desir wants to go off on his own like an idiot. Why do teams always have some hair-brained, gut reaction person who wants to split up? But then in comes the monster. The monster turns out to be some massive battalion of mice and Desir is smart enough to know how to lure the main one out and halt the attack. Romantica tries to take it out with a wind arrow, but it is not very effective... Pram charges in and at the same time the Blue Moon lose a person (16/30). The green team loses someone, or maybe all three. then Pram kills the main rat/mouse and it completes the survival quest, so that has to be some good points for him. But did that clean up all the rats for all parties?

Desir needs to keep reminding himself that no matter how much they improve in small increments, they need to be much stronger. He is going to have to keep being a hard ass and will probably come off as a jerk more often than not in the future. This makes him realize that they shouldn't just sit back and let everyone else kill each other off, they need to go and clear out the main objective. It is more risky, but the training will do them all some good.

Pram did one attack and was barely attacked himself by the mice but needed a nap? then got like 5 minutes of sleep and he is all good now?

The post credits show that the rest of the parties rats were not taken out and they each have their own leader. Blue just lost the one girl and red and green lost nobody it turns out. Now Beta Party is at the clock tower and the preview shows there are gonna be some battles. Should be a good one.
