Yawns I just feel the girls are wasted each one is a gem and all the characters are burnt to ash when u include em in this plot line. xD idk why i watch it either, I even read the manga expecting something to happen but turns out author perhaps has never heard of the term called "Character development" , it shocks me how there hasn't been a drop of change in character in a 250+ ? chap manga sigh how frustrating. I hope someone puts some sense into the author cause its painful to see him butchering such good girls.

edit: I realized if I can read trash Chinese manhua with trash translations then it ain't a miracle for me to spend my time on this show lol.

I couldn't get past 2 episodes of season 2, I was so bored at this point. I would have stayed for Mami cause she's the only interesting character, but she barely gets any screen time so I just dropped the show.

It’s not really a harem. I enjoy it because it seems realistic for a socially awkward guy to constantly struggle and fail to show affection towards the girl he likes. And yes it’s definitely a slow burn and isn’t for everyone but I don’t think it deserves all the hate it gets

I can understand your frustrations my friend. As much as we would like to see a character development from the MC I'm afraid you will be waiting for a long time. As a big fan of Romance, I have mixed feelings about the show. You could say it's not getting the right romance because it's a harem. But I think their biggest takeaway of the show is how they presented what will be expected on this show.

Yeah ever since season 1, I think Ruka is honestly the better girl in all aspects. The reason why I like Ruka is because of her shy introverted personality and the fact that she tries really hard in social interactions.
Chizuru is top tier, but she's just too perfect and obviously the main choice of the author too I guess.
Glad that we both dont like Mami lmao.

People will value different aspects of the media they consume, that means some people will have lower standards for writing and character development for instance, it doesn't matter if the plot is well constructed or not as long as something they find cool happens, personally I equate rent a girlfriend to the isekai genre as a whole, you get a average joe with a somewhat bland personality for the viewer to self insert, and put him in a situation where everything goes his way, in this case every beautiful girl he meets falls in love with him, it's pretty much porn, maybe just not the kinda porn you're into

Here's a life lesson for all of you. If you don't like it, STFU, no one cares about your opinion unless they specifically asked you, you have no right to bad mouth a series others enjoy, how would you feel if someone bad mouthed a series you enjoyed? I'm not saying all this because I loved the anime, I enjoyed it, but there are many others better than it. However, the fact that you still say that there is no character progression proves that you haven't watched it all, by season 3 there is a lot of character progression and deep scenes, the fact that people can be so single minded about a show they haven't watched in its completion is simply incomprehensible to me. All you do is base your opinion on that of other people's instead of having your own, and that in itself shows how lifeless one can be. You want to talk about people having no life for enjoying a show, how about you take a good look in the mirror and see who truly is the lifeless one, the one who simply is enjoying a show? Or the one who decided bitch about it online without a valid reason for hating on it other than that "other people said its bad." So how about you try watching it again and see what you think, if you enjoy it then you enjoy it, and if not, STFU, no one cares that you didn't like something because its a natural part of life and the differences in what we enjoy make us human. So have a good long think about what you have written and come to the realisation that either no one cares, or the hate is all for naught, because what the only opinion that matters in a situation like this is that of your own.

I try not to judge others based on their anime preferences as everyone enjoys different things. however since you decided to be do negative about an anime you sat and watched, all I am going to say is, your favorite anime is Naruto which is mid at best. Difference isn't tested with division. This is a Percent Error calculation: Get the absolute value of the difference between the expected value and the actual value and divide it by the expected value.

I think this deserves far better ratings than badly done romcoms like Kaguya-sama and Horimiya, but I also think those 2 deserve less score than they have.

It is actually easy to enjoy, the comedy is done right and it even has some unintentionally funny scenes. Every character is flawed and sometimes behave like actual human beings (not always, but they do, except Sumi, she is just your typical shy anime girl). The art is also pretty nice and detailed even if te animation is pretty stiff.

So yes, I pretty much think it deserver a score of 7.03, it should be a point higher taking into account MAL standards lmao.

Debatable. I actually quite liked Rent a gf season 1. And yes I've watched Boruto. 151 episodes of it and it's mostly garbage. It has its great moments but overall, it just tanks on the legacy that Naruto has. Now, I would read the manga, but I'm just reading far better series atm and in the near future.

Because unlike most people, I don't look to self-identify with the MC. I get it. Kazuya is a loser and has no game when it comes to girls. But let's be honest. Not many guys out there have skill when it comes to talking to and dating women. I mean, why else would these self-help coaches exist online to give advice to men who have low confidence when approaching and interacting with women?

@Dattebayo307 I watched Boruto, couldn't stand more than 8 episodes. I tried the manga, it is still shit but more watchable than the anime version.

Complaining about a rating is like complaining about getting ratio'd, more people like it than hate it, end of discussion, the simpsons keeps getting new seasons because there are people out there who enjoy the newer seasons, and when there are people who enjoy a given anime, it drives up manga sales which tends to result in more seasons, welcome to capitalism, first time?

Although it can be embarrassing to watch at times it is nice to see a more realistic character that is not crazy OP and has a more real goal (to get a girlfriend)
Altho this anime is not for everyone it is quite entertaining (in my opinion). I am sure there are anime’s that you love that you will hate but I don’t judge you for it or put those anime’s done. The anime community is in general quite hated by many the least we can do is support each other in what we enjoy.

I remember I religiously read this manga back in 2020. Super fun time until about chapter 190. After that the story literally goes NOWHERE. The manga had even been developing a good sense of momentum and romantic progression at least back how I remember when my virgin ass read it. After chapter 190 the manga would artificially build tension, destroy said tension, introduce pointless characters, throw away said characters, reintroduce them, etc. I’m convinced the mangaka literally just writes the bare minimum he needs to keep you reading week to week. I said F this and dropped it at around chapter 320. Coincidentally I started getting laid after I dropped this dumb series LMAO.
