I've heard a few rotten things about this one, but now having seen it I don't know why. It's far from free of problems; the heroine is a little under-characterized and the whole final third doesn't work that well and seems a bit late to be introducing some weird fantasy ideas as it does, but the first two thirds were fine. A pretty conventional treasure-hunting thing is lubricated nicely by a constant stream of little jokes, like taking the comment about talking to engine literally, or showing Jigen carrying around a backpack full of bullets.

Not a great piece of Lupin, but acceptable.

I was pleased to see that fluffy cat survived, it earned my respect attacking that "freaky muscle-bound orangutan", needless to say, due to the quote I also enjoyed the scene where Fujiko regained her memories, although I did enjoy nice Fujiko as well.

Once again I enjoyed the one-shot heroine, I like this formula they have set up.

It was also admirable to see the lengths of Goemon's friendship; performing CPR on Jigen 27 times and going in for the 28th, Jigen's reaction was amusing too. Watching Goemon reviving machines by chopping his hand at them and seeing him go back to slice a cyclone in half was also enjoyable.

A special focused on Fujiko! She memorized those files about a long sought after treasure, but ended up being targeted for them and losing her memory, but not before destroying the files. So Lupin had to protect her as a familiar stranger, and fight against those who were trying to get to the treasure, and Fujiko herself. Rosaria, the original character of this one, was kind of cool too. Her father, the main villain here, was deranged though. He used his wife as a test subject and would use his own daughter if he needed to. He did become a powerful monster using the energy he was researching, but Fujiko made quick work of him after recovering her memory in a really cool scene.

I recently saw this topic in another anime too, if sad and painful memories are better forgotten, and I don't know, I guess it depends on the person. Rosaria decided to remember her father though, I don't know if only the good memories, but she kept those keepsakes. Zenigata didn't do much here though, he was just present to give his men a hard time, I wouldn't want him as a boss. lol There were some funny moments though, like Goemon putting stuff to work with his karate chop and Lupin trying to mimic it to no avail. xD Jigen was so ungrateful after Goemon tried so hard to save him with CPR though. lol Welp, it was a good one with some nice moments between Fujiko and Lupin.

Science parts of this were kind of stupid (even by Lupin standards) but otherwise an enjoyable special.

Alot of good moments between Lupin and Fujiko.

So the sub just randomly decided to self destruct and that's how they stop the bad guy.

I love Lupin and it can be ridiculous and unrealistic at times, but this one was just off. The resolution was too convenient and Lupin really didnt stop the bad guys this time even the disguise guy.

I still like it cause its Lupin, but definitely the weakest movie I've watched thus far 6/10.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
