| 8 years outside of the tunnel is equal to 2922 days or 4207680 minutes. Divided by 40 is 105,192 seconds needed to be spent in the tunnel for that amt of time to pass. That's only 1 day, 5 hours and 21 minutes. It was around 14.5 hours in before he made a sprint for that door (52,200 seconds, which is indeed almost 4 years outside). I assume that there's basically some off screen time flow between the time he sees his watch and when he deliriously falls and sees a light and makes a dash for the door. Also it probably took another 14+ hours to run back from where he was in the cave, so overall it should add up to 8 or so years no problem. |
