This movie? show? pilot? was boring. It started confusingly. attempted to inject some action, and just meandered to ... apathy and mediocrity. It's not worth a watch. The VA are fine - they do what they can with the script - but the whole thing reads like someone cut out 75% of the video that would have made sense and made you give a shit about the characters

I laughed at the use of famous orchestral music. Obviously the budget Muv-Luv premise wasn't going to work in twenty minutes, but it wasn't unfun to watch at least, and the MARS suit and "Ancient" leader had cool designs. Absolutely nothing was explained and the fight scenes are crap. The Ancients have face lasers to make your head asplode in epic blood fountain, yet their leader just weakly strangles everyone while he's waiting to get shot. Funny and bad at the same time.

Honestly I Kinda liked it, 6-7/10. the idea was interesting but the execution was poor & it was far far too short to flesh anything out + poor usage of the time alotted for this. I usually don't hear classical songs in anime like that for the entire ost damn near which was nice. songs like moonlight sonata 1st mvt, gymnopédie no 1, some chopin & bach it was interesting and made me kinda nostalgic to back in late grade school/ middle school when I first started piano with moonlight sonata.

My favorite character in the episode is of course, if you ask why that girl who died without doing anything in the first minute of the war, because her teammates were looking at the monsters with fear, she said that I am not afraid of you with the eyes of the monsters. I give 5 points to this series to give peace to your soul. REGARDS...

Ok this might be the one time I'll say Dub over the sub lol. Sub just a mediocre bad ova but Dub is actual pretty funny. Made me laugh a few times. Overall still not nearly the worst anime.

Plasma guns do nothing, then they do damage and flinch them. Then they do nothing again. then Takeru kills the ancient with one. Then the ancient gets up and acts like the gun was nothing to him. THEN THOSE GIRLS, WITH THE SAME GUNS THAT DID NOTHING TO THE WEAK ANCIENTS, BLOWS UP THE STRONGEST ANCIENT LIKE IT'S NOTHING!
Girls are really terrifying, what a thought provoking anime, not expected less from maestro Satou Yoshiteru.
