Yeah the actual sex is not given. Maou did come out of the hotspring nude once, but even then the genitals were hidden by the background so only Max knows that answer.

Maou has many lives and can shapeshift so they can be any gender they want lol. Considering how Maou said "who cares", he/she really doesn't care and he/she doesn't "pretend" to be one or another gender, both seem to be natural for him/her. It may be hard for a regular human to accept this or feel comfortable about this, but that's how Maou works.

Maou is a girl. When the kid was first introduced, they censored both the top and bottom with leaf 🌿 thus denoting the kid was girl. And also the statement from zenia saying trunk is not developed yet and hid it saying, she's in on it to cover it up from maou herself. And while in the show the maou is catching feelings and blushes, which indicates female harmones at work.

@Dragon_sin_007 Zenia mentioning his underdeveloped trunk already states that his gender or atleast the gender he was reborn as is male.

Feelings and blushes are not female exclusive hormone induced expressions.
