| If you don't want to know what happens yet, don't read, it is an Episode Discussion thread. Do not ask where to find the episode, episode will air in October 2023. We could just enjoy the premiere. Alright, was at AnimagiC and so watched Episode 1 & 2 of the new season of Goblin Slayer. OP is good, Mili sings it again so what do you expect? Nice blood and killing though. I'm not really an ED person, so yeah, the ED is there. Aside from that, we get reminded of the first episode of the first season what happens when woman meet goblins. Not good times. Our Priestess cannot level up with the current team they have, so she should actually go do quests with another team. But then we stumble upon a little brother of the Goblin Slayer boy that thinks goblin slaying is easy and he wants to do the same, kill all of the goblins! Goblin Slayer says no to taking notes or just killing them in general, he should just go kill rats. Because he needs a place to sleep and the guild doesn't have space, we go to our farm and see our lovely wife back! All in all, let's however go find some goblins and so a party has been created and Priestess should lead it. Instead of going in without doing research, it would be wise to do some research so let's do that. Director Misato Takada told us that season 2 will focus more on the growth and character development overall and the gestures & movements of Goblin Slayer. It is time to hunt some goblins! |

| Jesus, they started with recapping that infamous first few minutes of the first season lol.. and that too in almost its entirety. I mean there’s no need, after all we still have that thing engraved in the deepest part of our memories lol. Though back to the second season, and the familiar faces are back too. Good for Miss Priest, she’s now living her second year as the life of an adventurer, but I hate to break it to you, you’d still do the same goblin slaying even going forward. I mean not even Goblin Slayer's first proper appearance, and the gang literally went for goblin hunting straight away lol. Eat, Sleep, Slay goblins and repeat… as always. That one thing you should do if you want any sort of help out of goblin slayer is… accepting you wanna hunt goblins too. He’d absolutely not forsake you lol, as seen when he helped that glasses dude. Though that dude does have a bit of an attitude problem, I hope he learns quick slaying goblins ain’t some small feat as he makes it out to be. Anyways, pairing with Goblin slayer and gang next time… that dude… with miss priest leading the party. Studio might have changed, but atleast they’re making sure the PROPORTIONS still should look as right as they used to( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Cow-girl<3 |

| 5 EXACT YEARS TO THE VERY DAY of novelist Kumo Kagyu's Goblin Slayer premiere episode that trashed all of the gore, violence and nudity right out of the gate. That opening flashback scene comes back to haunt, but for a short while. Mili is back for her 2nd OP, together with Yuki Nakashima's ED, and it's decent. Liden Films has taken over White Fox for the sequel, so there's a noticeable hit in quality. We continue with Volume 6 of the LN (sadly skipping the adaptation of Vols 3 and 4), so if you haven't watched the Goblin's Crown movie (which unfortunately loosely adapts Vol 5), now's a great time to do so. It's great to see Priestess, Archer, Dwarf Shaman, Lizard Priest, as well as the titular Goblin Slayer, back to hunt more goblins, as par their usual course. Only this time, there's someone new: this new rookie red-haired wizard adventurer glasses boy who wants Goblin Slayer to teach him how to kill goblins since he has an interest in it. Goblin Slayer's a man of few words, and as the rookie adventurer follows him back to his home, Cow Girl greets him and much to the chagrin of her uncle to let him stay, ultimately Goblin Slater will still be responsible for him if he goes rogue, then bringing him back to the Adventurers' Guild, where he faced a barrage of complaints...and making Priestess the leader of the party, that's a bit reckless, but yeah that works... A decent return after 5 years, though who remembers Goblin Slayer well for its violence and gore back in the day. |

| Well, I see this show is still taking care of business as usual with our Goblin Slayer. Same personality as I remember. Seeing Cow Girl, Priestess, Archer, Guild Girl, etc almost seems refreshing. Priestess seems to be in a good mood from this episode. They really didn't waste much time reintroducing some of the main cast again. Kinda curious about Lizard Priest and his role for rest of the season though. Animation quailty still looks as I how remember, doubt it will change much. |

| Peak trash is back 😌 The flashback opening scene seemed even more gruesome than the premiere of S1. Not surprised that they would reintroduce the series with the scene that made it infamous back then. |

| Finally Goblin Slayer is back with another season. It did get a movie sometime back but that wasn't enough. Pretty decent episode to start the season, with a new character introduced who's naive and annoying but for some reason wants to kill goblins. Wonder what's up with that. It sucks that healer san didn't get promoted, hope they acknowledge her growth and promote her soon. That said great to see everyone back, we even got to see the childhood friend. OP/ED were both nice. Looking forward to rest of the season. |

| Goblin Slayer season 2 time! I liked season 1 more than most people did so I was quite looking forward to this one. There was a movie released after season 1 btw, so go watch that too. A character from it is mentioned this episode. I always liked how they show flashbacks in GS with everything in monochrome except the hair. Is it just me or whenever an anime changes studios for a new season the art outlines become thinner? It will take some time to get used to this artstyle. The OP is by Mili again let's go! I loved the first one so this is fantastic to see. I hope they make more anime OPs. Priestess got buffed a bit. Daaamn Witch looks so different here (I had to go to the wiki to get her name lol) More DnD references! Lizard Priest looks like a baby now lol We'll get some more focus on Priestess this season it seems! Judging by the ED, we'll see High Elf Archer more too. Definitely looking forward to that. Good premiere overall. To LN/Manga readers: Are they adapting everything in order? I actually won't mind if it's out of order, it worked out well in season 1, just wondering. | It's great to have Goblin Slayer back, accompanied by Mili's tune in the opening. I'll never tire of rookies underestimating GS. The guild's veterans, however, know better and are just glad to have him around. That little Rhea girl inquiring about their actions was absolutely adorable. It's heartening to see a rookie who's eager to learn and heed GS's advice. According to Guild Girl, it seems they made it back safely after dealing with the rat hunt. Seeing Cow Girl again is always a pleasure, and naturally, her infectious smile steals the show. On a serious note, I admire how unfazed she is when Wizard Boy asks if she's Goblin Slayer's wife, it's quite amusing. xD Speaking of Wizard Boy, he's genuinely insufferable. He's certainly not endearing himself after insulting practically all the clerics in the guild. To add to the mess, Priestess now has to partner with him in order to advance her rank. |

| I like the new animation, it took me a few minutes but it feels to be more thorough(?). The pace seems a bit rushed, but maybe appropriate for the recap needed for a Season 2 opener. I could have easily launched into episode 2 but it'll be something to look forward to this next week. |

| Holy shit. Can't believe it's been half a decade since Season 1 of Goblin Slayer first aired. I thought it was a 2019 anime or something. Even though it's been so many years I think I still remember Goblin Slayer better than some anime that I watched more recently. I remember not liking GS's animation back then. I hope this season will be better. Since it's LIDENFILMS I'm already expecting a huge improvement in Season 2. Anyway, not much happened in the first episode. There wasn't even any real goblin slaying which was a bit disappointing. Instead, we got this Goblin Slayer-wannabe brat. Hope he gets put into his place soon. I wouldn't mind some episodes focusing on Priestess as the leader of a party. She shows promise. But I would've preferred Goblin Slayer as the lead for the beginning of Season 2. Either way, I'm glad this show is back after so many years. It's almost like a blast from the past. |

| We’re back and the vibes are still the same. I didnt like how they didnt promote her to Silver , she’s been really useful the whole time, but now to prove herself idk why she has to mentor this low rank guy who probably didnt see what happened in the first ep of GS lmao. Nevertheless, she already proved herself well enough in battle to deserve the promotion. Though, I have to mention one thing I didnt actually like is the new art , its so low tier |

| Yep Priestess sure had it rough before meeting GS. Nice OP theme that was both brutal in showing the eternal struggle against the gobs and haunting via lyrics. While also showing well the nature of the struggle on the frontier via Guild girl consulting her report and Cow girl praying for GS's safety. Looks like we'll be seeing the spinoff party as well. Being able to survive her first year is a great archievement for Priestess. In the field knowing what is what by touch is something that cannot be understated enough. It was cute seeing Guild girl be that flustered. Mocking a healer is the last thing a rookie should be doing. Overall a pretty fun opening ep that featured a good balance of character reintro's and expansion of the lore via the intro of new characters. Hope the rook sorts his attitude out though or he won't survive long out here. |

| Goblin Slayer is back and right away they refresh our memories with the infamous scene from season 1 that got people talking about this series in the first place. I didn't go back and watch S1, and I should also probably get around to watching the movie lol, but it's nice to see all the familiar faces back. We also got a new character who is already insufferable, shit talking everyone and being quite adamant about wanting to slay goblins. Stay in your lane, rookie. And you gotta love how blunt GS is. "Yes, there were goblins" 💀💀 A decent return for the series, as I look forward to see our goblin-obsessed MC do what he does best. |

| Just recently finished watching the movie it's so nice to get into season 2 right after. The animation looks so much crispier now and the new Op is an absolute banger I love it |
| Well a calm start seeing the way last season started. The new kid seems to have a lot in common with a certain unfortunate mage looks wise that is which might also explain his hatred. I wonder where they are going with this, this time. |
| Hey, they literally adapted the infamous scene from episode one! That’s a smart move to garner some attention back, we all remember how much of an impression that made, right? It’s been a while since we’ve seen the group, and Goblin Slayer makes the same entrance every time, I swear xD. Goblin hunting (or rather, goblin slaying), of course that’s it. Receptionist-san saves the best of goblin extermination quests for him, how kind of her. I hope to see some focus on her like the 1st season, lol. And decent screen-time for cow girl. Naive new guy, that’s a spell for trouble in this show… Pretty cool of an Op, that. Visuals hit the spot quite well too, definitely gets the dark vibes of the show across. And the ED seems fine. |

Was Lizardbro always this ...photogenic? Goblin Slayer deadpanly denying his marriage to Cow Girl was hilarious. Also, with how often killing rats is recommended to newbies, it would be funny if there were a "Rat Slayer" AU where rats are as big of a threat as this world's goblins. |

| After several long years we are back in the world of goblin slayer. This is an amazing season for dark fantasy fans. So much good stuff airing and of course GS season 2 is at the top of that. Of course when you think GS you think of episode 1s iconic scene and they brought that back for a recap. Based as hell. New studio, but the quality seems to be just as good. I’m glad it was a slower paced episode that allowed us to reconnect with the main cast after such a long time. Was Goblin Slayer always that funny? I didn’t know dude had jokes like that lol. His little smart remarks were great. The new character looks fun and I’m just ready to get back to slaying a ton of goblins lol. Nice |

| @TheScapeGoat my thoughts exactly. Wasn't much for first episode. Mostly exposition. Luckily annoying brat won't be regular on these episodes. Had that been the case I think I would have dropped the show then and there. |
